Vietnam have a lot to prove in the tournament, and made sure they made Japan fight for it (Minamino hattrick of goal involvements, plus Endo, love the Reds connection here) with an exciting 3-2 HT lead giving some fire to this early period.

Palestine are the obvious underdogs tonight but with a lot to play for, and I wonder if Iran might actually choose to take their foot of the gas tonight, I think the odds are good. A simple bet, we'll see how it takes us.

I'll probably leave this thread alone after this post, clearly no one's interested. And to think there are supposedly a shitload of Asian gamblers in this forum.

Self-moderated thread, and I'll lock it after end of comp. I doubt there's much interest, since there wasn't even a topic I could find in 10 pages!

First match has kicked off. Hosts Qatar are already leading 1-0 to Lebanon -- edit, disallowed, nil-nil. Four years ago I was confident of Qatar being a huge darkhorse and was right. A largely unknown team playing behind closed doors before they unleashed themselves.

Some interesting teams, including Australia who's got a naturalised Uruguayan 36-yr old leading the line. Some Southeast Asian teams dreaming to make it out of group stage to at least upset the powerhouses of Japan and South Korea.

Post your bets, discuss the gambling opportunities, but please don't spam.

P.S. It's sad. It's really sad. I tried searching for a post here and not one from a football confederation representing 1/3 of the world population. There's been discussion elsewhere and popularity on crypto gambling is apparently not here yet -- you bookmakers need to sit up and eat that big market in China at least, because football betting in the black market is huge!
