I have updated the the wallets that can be used for signing message. Samourai was removed because the wallet has been taken down when its whirlpool was linked to mixing of criminal coins or something. Electrum mobile version last 3 updates or so supported coin control and message signing.

You're right knowledge is considered as one of the key to success, because without knowledge there's no way you can make plans, let me use crypto investment as an example, if you don't have the knowledge about how crypto investment works probably you will keep experiencing lose all the time. reason is because you failed to acquire the knowledge before looking into it, however knowledge is required in all aspects of life, this is why is very good to have the knowledge about how crypto investment works so as to enable us carry out a good investment plans.

For me, I will to say that things to do for the newbies plenty, but first any new person wey enter this forum, make e no forget to first go read all the rules and regulations, make e know wetin dem dey come do here, so that them no go fall law or come dey find am to difficult to cope with the forum and so that their mistake no go much and make they carry am for mind say here na no brother for jungle, everything here is just strict.

When I was a newbie, I earned merit fast. I registered on Bitcointalk, I knew nothing. I make some wrong posts and I was corrected but people knew that I was ready to learn and I accepted corrections from established members. I studied people and how they were posting, I read most posts than me posting. Later, I make myself more useful by bringing useful topics and I continued to earn merits. There were some posts that I will make and I will be expecting merit and many of them were given merits because I know how this forum is. See this forum like an organization, you got to and learn about them to become like them.

This has always been the center of interest ( how to earn merit) of many newbie but I actually do not blame most of them sha because I was once like them and I once ask this question. However,  there are several advantages of merit and they include:

1. It help one enter another position
2. It gives one access to some task ( joining of projects ) etc.
You earning merit means you understand or you are beginning to understand the forum.

I think what will encourage newbie to post is because of activity. Your activity counts as you are making posts and if you don't get the number of activity require for a member even if your merit is enough to take you to
that membership level you won't be given that position or title unless you get the number of activity required. But I always advise newbie not to post with the intention to earn merit because it doesn't work that way, merit will come when you least expect it, that is how funny it can be sometimes. In summary make sure you go through posts thoroughly and carefully so as to understand the forum very well because the moment you understand the forum every other thing becomes easy for you.

Maybe i should suggest that this thread be pinned here on the local board, so that it can serve as a first approach learning material for the newbies who are just joining the forum and local board, this may help prevent them from making a low quality post or trolling the forum by posting what is not welcome to carry useful information's, at first approach, some of these newbies need to learn from resourceful materials.

Everyone survived when it'd their time. We start our crypto journey and at the end of the day, we will relaxed when the results are out. This is the forum where we listen to essential problems and also know the projects to invest and the ones to refrain from such actions. We passed the important phases before finally granting usable passes. information is power and we should never underestimate our chances of reaching the top this season. I've come this far to win games and make quite good findings for myself.

This here is the the best post I've seen today. I wish all the newbies like myself can see this post. If possible this post should be pinned on all the forums for all the newbies to see it. Because I know very much that most the newbies that got in on this platform are only here for the money, to get recognitions, make impressive posts and get merited, some even copy ideas from others and some post news they do not even understand the contents just to get merited, with the purpose of building up their accounts, join a signature campaign that'll pay you and then relax, forgetting that the core purpose of this platform is to dispatch knowledge to its members.

Knowledge indeed is power and we seem to forget that knowledge is the primary and the principal thing, when you're here for the money, trust me it's really gonna be difficult to cope here, but when you make acquisition of knowledge your primary objective for coming here then every other thing will come easy peasy. I remember the wisest man the bible ever recorded (Solomon) was a seeker of wisdom and knowledge and when he got it, wisdom wasn't the only commodity under his sleeves, if you know the story, you'll know that he was also the richest king that ever lived. So knowledge comes with a reward and that reward is the money, the recognition and the merits, cos no one would wish to merit a non quality poster.

So the sooner we start changing our mindset and purpose for being here, the better for us.

You just titled your post for Nigeria newbies but not only newbies are benefiting from this topic, getting it all arrange here in our own local board, indeed you are doing a very good job.

To me the way you are going about is actually okay, because after knowing everything about forum including the rules of the forum, then next thing is to know why the forum is created and the purpose of it. This is a very helpful compilation of key information for not just newbies but people of my kind. I have been looking and wondering on how to go about making a thread that contains image but didn't see any option requiring me to directly upload an image from my device and so I just randomly assumed that I needed to rank up to full member before I would be able to create threads containing an image. But with this link https://www.talkimg.com/ it just brightened my day and I guess I just added another knowledge to my library of information in the forum.

I just want to also add that you should have given a detailed explanation on steps involved in uploading the image because when I clicked on the link and uploaded a random image just to know how it all works, I was afraid when I saw "uploaded" and didn't know the particular place the image was uploaded to. I guess you should have added that we need to copy the link and add it to our post and then preview it before posting it. But thanks for the information, it really helped.

I'm now using "tracked phrases" and everything works perfectly. I had issues with my notifications bot after changing my name and removing my custom title, so I set my tracked phrases to "ige, igebotz, igehhh, sheriff" and I get notified whenever any of these phrases are mentioned in a post.. Cool features

I only use it for notification of mentions and merits and I am satisfied with it. I noticed some months ago that it will repeat the merit that someone has given a day before again, but I have only noticed this just in a time, but it happened repeated for like a week or two. Sometimes, the total merit may not also be accurate but this can easily be solved from our end.

The Ninja notification bot has a lot of glitches. I've been using this not for almost two years now and I barely get post notifications, the only notification I get is merit notification, and sometimes it gives double merit count. I haven't tested the LoyceV notification bot yet, but I might give it a try.

I think I will recommend the superbot notifier on telegram although there are some glitches for different users on the case of merit tracking but it can be rectify by manually adjusting the merit to the accurate number. This telegram bot helps alot Incase you feel like tracking any user or board for effective contribution in your discussion on new topics here in the forum. As I started using this, my activeness in discussion has gotten to another level and it will indeed help newbies that wants to really stay on track with their discussions or thread created.

I included a link to your post on the OP, which I think could be helpful for some newbies. Although, I see talkimg.com to be very easy to use and not confusing, but I appreciate your good work. It would be better if you readjust your images in a way it will look more better than the way they are now.

I have noticed that not all beginners do know how to use the TalkImg, to upload image or sometimes face issues in generating image links. Here is a proper guide to it :

When you click the link TalkImg.com - Image hosting 4 BitcoinTalk, the image above is what you will see and when you click on the green box you are redirected to the TalkImg page

In the first image click on the start uploading , which is shown to you on the image above by the green arrow to be directed to the next  image, then you can select as many of photos you want from your device and also you can either click browse you see on the second image above in order to easily get to the part where the picture is on your device or just clicking on the camera to access your device camera and take a photo of what you want to upload but keep in mind that the size of the image you can upload should be less than 3mb.
The part circled red can allow you zoom in and out in order to get a clearer view of the image you want to upload.The part squared in color cyan , is clicked once you are done selecting the image.


On this page, the green arrow takes you to the editing page while the cyan arrow allow you to remove an image you don't want to upload. If you don't want to do any of those two you can simply click on the Upload botton to redirected to the next page.


The first image shows the editing page where you can optionally change the title of your image and also add description about your image but the resize image Here, allow change the width and height of your image and this is mostly why the editing page is been use.
Once you are done editing just click the Submit button which will redirect you to the previous page, that is, the image before this one and then you click on the Upload button

When you get to this page, you can simply click green circle to copy the image link and use it on your post.
When you click on the arrow , you given some options

The main reason I included this is because many forum members said it can be used as a better search engine. All you have to do is to go to the website, click on the menu at the upper left corner, click on posts and search for the topic or post that you want to search for.

Know that Bitcointalk was created by Satoshi Nakamoto, the person or group that created bitcoin. So discussion about bitcoin are valuable on this forum, but you can check the other boards on this forum from the home page, look for boards of interests.

It is a nice topic and the Problem newbies face in the forum is to obey the local and general rules. They are not ready to obey the rules so the forum became difficult for them. A simple instructions and it is ringing every day to every ears to avoid duplication thread and low quality post. And always do not all at least 90 percent to create or discuss cryptocurrency related issues but they divert to other discussion which has nothing to the local board.

For the creation of new topic, before I create a topic even though I didn't use the forum/google search box, I would refreshed the local board page and checked through the first and the second page and if I did not see the particular thread then I create my own. Though I have not seen established members duplicating topics like that, they are rare just few but it is a part of newbies in the forum or local board. So what you have done is a very good job and if the newbies are really ready to learn. For the question the Nigga asked, he has to make quality posts and that is all. Na true, di best way for newbies to take get merits and rank up na to learn about bitcoin, follow forum rules and di most important na to try to focus on making quality posts. Di only thing wey i go fit add from my small experience for di forum na for dem to get patience, because as a newbie or member, you fit to de try make quality posts, but merits no de come like dat. I don't think should be your main focused because when you channel your thinking on how to only earn some merits and your didn't earn any it would draw you down and also limits your love for the forum, since it happens that you are focusing to achieve a merits in other for you to go higher to a better rank.

You created an already existing post an hour later. From the look of the two topic titles, you may not see it on Google maybe because the thread is new and definitely because the titles are not similar.

What to do next time:
It is about exchange maintenance which if someone create such topic, it would likely be today (or less than 2 days ago) because the maintenance started few hours ago. Use the forum search engine instead, 'change it from match all words' to 'match any words'.





The message age should be between 0 to 1 day (or 2 days) for the obvious reason I pointed to already, and check ✔️ only Nigeria and search.

This is what you will see with maybe few other suggestions:




Mate2237 topic is the second while yours is the first. Supposing you have not created the topic, you would have seen Mate2237 topic on top instead.

This applies to topics created not long because the longer the days the topic is created, the greater the inaccuracy and inability to see what you are looking for.

Alternatively, you can check the topics created recently on the first page of the local board and you can easily know if similar topic has been created or not.

@OP, I appreciate your time that you took to figure out the important things that newbies need to know on how local board here because most of them are finding it difficult to come in touch with this topics on the main board. I am a Full Member but I still see myself as a newbie because there is something that you posted here which I don't know but with this your thread I have understood it very well. You are like a guardian angel and a master on this our local board. Keep up the good work.

Plenty of answers don dey provided to this question but I go just add one thing; for you to get merits, you need to first understand say you no dey obliged to make any post as soon as you create your account, but first read and understand the rules of the forum so you no go make mistake. Many newbies in a bid to make their first post and possibly hunt for merit dey make the simple mistake of plagiarism and most times, dey make posts wey person no fit make head and tail out of. So if the plan nah to grow for the forum, e go gud to read, make research and even observe so you fit contribute meaningfully for here.
 Keeping to these they help push merits come your way faster.

This is a great thread, I must say. I am just coming across it for now, but I am impressed because it will actually help our newbies and some of us here to keep the board clean and avoid spam.

I have used the forum search engine before and I am using Google search engine as well. I prefer Google search engine. If you click on forum search beside home and profile link, the first search engine that it suggested is even Google search, them followed by the forum search.



I prefer to go to google search engine directly and make use of it. But newbies need to be careful and know the risks of using Google search English that can bring up ads which are scam links.

Some people may also prefer to use the forum search which I do not think is bad either. I have used it before and it works good.

Most newbies have no idea about the merit and activity numbers, so I will leave the link below. They must all understand that regardless of merit, you must still reach certain months in order to earn a specific rank. For example, to achieve the required Activity point to obtain the Legendary rank (only those with the required merit), a user must be active for a period of two years.

Simple! You should read more if you want to become more knowledgeable. You are not obligated to post a certain number of times every day, so don't worry about it. However, keep in mind that your Activity point is determined by the total number of posts you have made.

And in addition to what "Asiska02" just said, Newbies just need to understand that posting is not compulsory, and as such they should only post when they have something valuable to say, and not posting with the mindset of meeting a minimum daily target, as there is nothing such as that. For me, I think the forum search engine can best be used for fine if a thread is already in existence on the forum, why for a broader aspects about how to fine x, y, z about the forum, then Google is a better tool for that, such as;  How to post image on Bitcointalk forum & e.t.c

The forum search engine in some time e no dey give what you dey look for so in most time I dey Google search engine and if I dey find someone from Google about the forum I dey use the format, on the google search box, type the following and anyone who has written concerning this topic go come out and you go select the one you dey find, although the author name e no dey come out so you go click dem to find the particular one you dey find.

Your contribution to the forum determines how you earn merits. Not just that, but also the person given you the merit must have seen that your post is worthy of been merited before you can get one.


It helps you rank up and move in rankings in the forum.


There’s nothing like encouraging newbies to make more posts. Making more post determines on how ready you’re to share or give back to the forum. Note: You don’t need to spam because you want your voice to be heard too, only post meaningful comments that are related to the topic of discussion at that time.


You’re not here for an assignment or a task that’ll require you to meet a quota of post as a newbie. Only post when necessary (to ask questions, share idea) in the forum. As time goes by, you’ll get more enlightened about the forum more depending on your zeal to learn.

E no get anything like "daily post", as a newbie wey no even dey campaign, no be must say you go dey steadily make posts, as a newbie reading better pass posting, because the more you read, the more you go dey learn wetin to post from what you read. E get wetin i notice say e dey affect newbies, and the thing is, dem dey rush, dem wan grab everything in a day, no go dey look some users wey still dey new but dem get penty merits, mind you that knowledge dey different and e get people wey dey understand things faster than others.

Having said that, the best way to take get merits na if you get to learn about Bitcoin and the forum too, e go help you to dey make high quality posts, and na posts like that they give merits. The advantage of merit be say you go use am rank up, and as you rank up dey enjoy yourself for forum, you go fit join signature campaign they earn incentives from your contribution to the forum.

Make yourself useful and you will earn merit and rank up. Readers are leaders. If you learn, you are investing. Learning is an asset.

If I should use myself as an example.
I took time to first learn how people that are merited are posting. I followed what some of them are posting. With that, I learned a lot. But I wanted to know more about bitcoin at the time and earn more knowledge about it and to know ways to avoid online scam and hacks. I searched online about how to avoid online scam and hacks which were some of my first topics on this forum. Just take it slow, read from what established members are posting and follow them very well will help you.

Some people on this local board are earning merit. Look at their posts too (with the English boards) and you will understand better. Making posts useful, informative and educating will help to ranking up. Do not come for money, come for knowledge and you will be surprised.

3. Staking of bitcoin address

Staking of your bitcoin address is used to claim the owner of a bitcoin address. It is good to stake it on this forum because if your Bitcointalk account is compromised or hacked, it can be used to recover back your Bitcointalk account.

You can not use an exchange address or a centralized platform address for staking because private key is used to generate the digital signature. You need a noncustodial wallet for it.

You can search for topics to know if the topic is already existing on this forum, to learn from the topic and the whole thread or to avoid thread duplication. But this is more about local board and I will be more specific to let you know how to know the threads that are existing on this local board which is the second forum search engine that you will see at the upper right corner on this forum which is beside 'home', 'help' or 'profile', 'my messages ' that are all written within blue color.



Click on the search -> write the topic you are searching for 'on search for'. At the down part, click on 'choose a board to search in, or search all' after you uncheck 'check all'. Look for Nigeria (Naija) and check ✔️ it and scroll down to click on search.

The main reason I included this is because many forum members said it can be used as a better search engine. All you have to do is to go to the website, click on the menu at the upper left corner, click on posts and search for the topic or post that you want to search for.

Ninjastic.space has many other functions. It is good for looking for deleted posts, checking of users bitcoin wallet or altcoin wallet addresses posted on this forum, even if it has been deleted. It can also be used to look for user's posts on the boards the user is very active, this can be done through the user ID. It has other functions and worth visiting.

8. Notifications, of new topics, replies, mentions and merits

Replies in this regard means any other posts aside topics. For the forum's notification, the notifications are sent to the email you used to register on this forum.


Notification of new topic
This forum has notification for topics and replies. If you want to be notified of new topic on a particular board, go to the board, you will see 'notify' beside 'new topic'. I am referring to new topic which you can click on to create and post a topic. Click on notify. With this, you will be notified of new topic that is posted on that board. The notification will be sent to your email.

Note: If you do not visit a new topic that you have been notified on a particular board through the email, you will no longer get notifications on the board until you visit the board.


Notification of new reply
On the thread you want to be notified of new replies, you will see 'notify' beside 'reply' (the reply you can click on to make new post), click on it (I mean click on 'notify' that is beside 'reply'. But ones you have been notified of the next post and you do not visit the thread, you will no longer get notification of other replies on the thread until you visit the thread again, but I think that is good because it will not create disturbance.
