My last payment finally completed!

But I sent another large payment and this time included a generous fee and it's taking just as long.   Cry

Thank you both for this valuable information. I have learned a good lesson today. Smiley

Mine is set at 0.0005 and that has been enough for immediate transactions (roughly $0.05 right now)  But the more you send, the faster your transactions will be in times of increased transaction volume.

It might take a while but give it time. It'll confirm.

I have a protocol when sending:

1. Triple check that the address is the one I want to send to.

2. Triple check that the amount is correct.

3. Check for a pre-configured transaction fee.

If sending a large amount that I want to make sure gets confirmed quickly, I add a larger fee even if one isn't required.

I did that once and the transaction went through 24 hours later.  Sucks, but your transaction fee is incentive for the miners to process your transaction more quickly.  So if you don't mind waiting, your transactions are free.
