why is this news? 6990 are sold everywhere for $700+.    maybe if it was 5870 for $200 then it's worth a new thread...

I started this thread because NewEgg had them in stock - the first time in almost a month, if not more.

I wish... Can't wait to play BF3 on a decent card.  The preview vids on Youtube look AMAZING!!!

Just go with crossfire for gaming. Two overclocked 6950's > stock 6990. Two new 6950's would also cost less than one 6990.
