If you don't mind paying 3 times more for hash than on S9, or really after antics than go for it!
Maybe he likes antiques? Smiley All figures have been calculated above and even on free electricity ROI would be really be longer considering the hash rate is too small plus the high mining difficulty i would say you are just wasting your precious time but if you do like to experience somehow then its not really bad at all.The main deal here is that PSU and im sure you would able to use that specially on latest miners without any problems.

It's worth it for the power supply.  Most people complain about the power consumption, but if you are just playing around...you may see your electricity raise a few bucks a month.  This is more than you will mine, but keep in mind -- BTC has went from 2100 to 4200 in one month.
Bitcoin would have to go up massively in price to make mining with this machine 'profitable', and this miner is insanely inefficient. Chances are Bitcoin could go to 20k and mining with this thing would only make you a couple bucks. Not really worth it even looking long term. I'd personally strip out the PSU and try to sell it on eBay and make a few bucks.

You could make a few bucks buying the PSU and selling it, it doesn't seem to be in terrible shape and it's a gold 1250W PSU. If you're willing to buy an S9/T9 then this could power the miner.

The miner is also pretty old and if you're willing to start a miner museum like me this is a pretty good piece to have. I haven't seen an Avalon like this in a long time.

Might be worth it for the PSU, but really only if you have something else you need the power for. Not worth hashing with if it needs a 1250W PSU for 200GH; an Antminer S3 will get you more than twice the hashrate off a fourth of that PSU and do it quietly.

I agree with the above people.  Pass on this one unless you can get it free and host it (power) for free.
Too expensive even with free electricity.

Only if you have FREE electric, and then it will still take quite awhile to get the $75 back  Wink

"Prospector Bitcoin Miner 200GH/s - $75

I'm selling my bitcoin miner-it's a Visionman Prospector that mines at 200GH/s. It's got a pretty beefy OCZ 1250W power supply in it"

                       BTC             Dollars
per Day   0.00005846 BTC   $0.20
per Week   0.00040924 BTC   $1.41
per Month   0.00177945 BTC   $6.15

So,about a year, but diff keeps rising so more like a year and a half...........

Too expensive for that hashrate. The USB stick miners are even worse value.

This time of year isn't a good time to get a cheap, quiet Bitcoin miner. College is about to start and students, especially those unable to get GPUs for altcoin mining, are hunting for deals on used Bitcoin miners.

If you want to play around start with something like this https://www.amazon.com/GekkoScience-2-Pac-Compac-Bitcoin-BM1384x2/dp/B06XBWK2W5/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1502165368&sr=8-4-fkmr1&keywords=gecko+bitcoin+miner.  Gecko can be found here in the hardware as well.
