Are you sure you ran a 980x on the Foxconn OEM board instead of something like a i7 920?
OEM socket 1366 boards in general never ship with high end extreme-series cpus
and in most cases cannot even be BIOS flashed to support 6-core i7s.

Usually, yes that would be the case. But this was supposed to be used for a enthusiast dell computer. It had an option to run a 980x. It ran all 6 cores with HT. It does NOT support for 990x however for what ever reason.
