Well, I have a better idea that would be beneficial for all of us and it will stop people from screaming scam.

You can ask the guys at MDA, (all interested could all drop a mail, not just you) to accept bitcoin for donations.
It's fast and easy via https://bitpay.com/docs/donations.

Even the USA Luge Foundation is doing it:

My work has allowed me to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (the MDA Shamrock Drive) by setting up a wallet to receive Bitcoin donations. I believe this will not only help the children, but also help spread more positive sentiment for Bitcoin (countering all the negative news such as Bill Gates' recent comments). The wallet will be swept when the drive is closed and 100% of donations will go toward the Shamrock Drive. If interested, please help spread the word. I will include a link to my Twitter posts on the subject which contain the wallet address.

If you decide to make a donation and would like a particular message written on your shamrock, send me a message with proof of your donation and what you would like on the Shamrock. I will post a video in the end on the amount recieved with proof of the purchase of Shamrocks for the entire amount donated to the wallet.

Thanks!

I think that you will have hard time convincing the members here to make  a donation. If you want ti help those children, better make a NGO for this and then ask for donation in the bank account of that NGO. This will also give the benefit to the donators that they can claim tax deductions on the donated amount. Otherwise, you can contribute on your own to already existing NGOs for this purpose.

I will try promoting your Twitter posts from couple of accounts that I use for promoting my eBooks.

Bump for the children Wink

Bumps are limited to once every 24 hours.

I don't think many people will trust coins sent to you will actually make their way to the charity...
