Hello bitcointalk!

We have some important news to share regarding our GTX Token Sale that was scheduled to open today. We have had to postpone the sale opening, however the registration period has been extended until the sale date is confirmed.

This decision was made after receiving feedback from our community and partners, raising concerns and uncertainty about the proof-of-use requirements for the eligibility of contributors. Other projects on the Token Foundry platform have changed their sale date for similar reasons in the past, therefore we feel it is our duty too to allow our community to take some extra time to understand the proof-of-use concept in more detail.

The gates are open! Are you ready to join us?

We are pleased to announce that registration for the GTX Token Sale has opened! The registration process will be hosted on the Token Foundry platform, which manages user verification, payment handling and proof of use of the tokens sold. Registration will remain open until the end of the sale, but it’s best to get in early!

With the GTX Token Sale beginning on September 27th, we here at GamerToken HQ are working to ensure that the contribution process is as seamless as possible. There are a few things that you will need to understand to join the Token Sale, so in the lead up to the sale we will be hosting webinars and writing medium blogs, that will highlight different aspects of the project, the Token Foundry platform and the process to contribute.

We've just released our latest Medium blog!

This edition gives a concise overview over why and how we are using a sidechain solution to create an ecosystem that is responsive, scalable and perfectly suited to the application we are pursuing. The team is constantly at work iterating and as such the technological approach we take make change over time, but currently this system is giving us the speed we need, coupled with the security of the Ethereum mainnet.

With our GTX Token Sale starting on the 27th of September (more information can be found here on the Token Foundry website, with registration for the sale opening very soon!), we will be lifting the hood on a lot of the technical aspects of the project to give contributors a look into what is powering the GamerToken ecosystem.

So how can you participate?

Registration for the sale will be hosted on the Token Foundry platform, and you’ll have to prove your knowledge and understanding of the GamerToken ecosystem to be eligible to join the sale through a simple questionnaire.

In fact, our Blockchain Architect, Matt Condon, was just at the Nifty Blockchain Gaming Conference and Hackathon in Hong Kong, discussing the ERC-721 protocol and how all users will be able to engage with the blockchain, regardless of their knowledge of the blockchain technology!

When we set out to create GamerToken, we wanted to show that we have a working product that can be integrated into existing games. The Fiesta MMO Blockchain Beta is a test that allows you to experience what GamerToken will be able to deliver in the future. You are helping us shape the product and have an impact on the design and final output, so we are using the demo to craft the final design of GamerToken. We encourage you to fill out our feedback form and let us know what you think, as we take all feedback seriously and we will use it as we continue building the GamerToken ecosystem.

With this working product, we can showcase our platform and managed to gain more partnerships and upcoming game integrations , that will show more and more potential partners that there is a viable system here that they can use to find players and create bigger communities.

When we launch our live network, then all progress and earned GTX will be stored on the blockchain, meaning it is yours forever. Until then, we will keep testing to make sure that our live deployment is successful and will be a real benefit to you, the gamer.

Thanks for your support, galaq! We are trying to ensure that gamers are rewarded beyond just having fun for their time in-game. By having GamerToken integrated games, the players will find themselves with unique, rare items that they can trade and share on our Marketplace. As with (almost) all things that are limited edition, the prestige and value will go up, meaning players will finally be in possession of something really valuable. Having things like esports memorabilia really brings a whole new spectrum of true item-ownership to the user. Finally it can be verified on the blockchain and these items will be completely one-of-a-kind, exactly like real life artworks that are signed by Picasso himself.

In update news, we have made some changes to our website, including adding a new events section! Now you can see where we will be next and where we have been recently, so come and check it out and let us know what you think!

We are really happy with our progress so far, especially considering the potential scope of the project. There's a lot of work to be done, but we are moving ahead nicely and I think that is being reflected in the Demos we have available. Even though you can't test them out, GamerToken will be able to be integrated into mobile games, so if you have a phone handy in the future, you'll still be able to reap the benefits of what we will deliver. Cool

Gamigo is a really great partner for us, they have an awesome portfolio of games and Fiesta Online still gets a lot of play time for us here in the office, but there is plenty more in the pipeline that we haven't been allowed to announce just yet, so make sure to stay tuned. As part of our Asia Roadshow, we've been hanging out with the Token Foundry and the teams from Weeve, Colendi, ARA and Civil, presenting at blockchain meetups in Tokyo before we head to Hong Kong for the Rise Conference. After that we will be making our way to Seoul, Korea for the Beyond Blocks Summit before making our way back home. It's been a fruitful trip so far and we've had the chance to trade ideas with other blockchain innovators that are pushing the boundaries in their respective fields.

These journeys are important for us to spread the word of GamerToken to new regions and grow our community to the far reaches of the world. Given that the project is going to be used by everyone, it's important to gather feedback from different markets and user bases, ensuring that we remain on track to provide the ecosystem that gamers, developers and publishers from all around the globe are looking forward to.

Our team is joining up with Token Foundry and ConsenSys and travelling east to a multitude of gaming and blockchain conferences happening in Singapore, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong, giving us a chance to network with some industry giants, and to establish ourselves in the biggest gaming communities in the world. - You can search now for item names on the Marketplace
- Default Gas fee offers are being shown in the market place to make it more transparent
- Initial BUY button has been changed to "Details" which will lead to a pop-up detailing the transaction details before confirming your purchase

Another week, another update!

We have just released a new version of our Marketplace Demo with some changes as requested by the community, as well as some Quality-of-Life updates, and they are live right now so come and give them a try!

Here are the latest changes:

Inventory page:
- Users can now scroll through the inventory pages, allowing those with large inventories to see all their assets
- Selected items are now highlighted
- Items on the Marketplace are marked with an icon
- Users can filter their items by those currently for sale or not for sale
- More details for items which are currently on the Marketplace
- Users can now filter items by your chosen game
- Game logos and names have been added to the item overview boxes

So with these changes in place, we need you to come along and test them! The feedback we receive from our community is essential in helping us grow and to focus on the issues that may not arise during internal testing. The best place to let us know suggestions you think would be a great fit, features you would like to see added to GamerToken or any problems you may have, is in our active Telegram group here. Thanks for the question!

GamerToken is taking a different approach than many of our industry peers. We’re creating a developer supported marketplace made up of veterans from the gaming industry that understand the needs and concerns of gamers. We are building an ecosystem that will run in parallel with, and enhance existing communities and in-game economies. Gaming is part of our DNA and we want to help gamers benefit from blockchain technology in the simplest and most user-friendly way.

The team is also already working with and integrating the GamerToken ecosystem into existing businesses. The partnership with the gamigo group is an exciting first step that provides a large community of passionate gamers the ability to start trading and helping design items on the marketplace. We’ll be announcing other notable developers and publishers joining the GamerToken ecosystem in the coming weeks and months.

Another difference that we see is that players can earn rewards not only in-game as tokens, but also from helping developers design new assets. The Designer’s Corner is where developers will be able to post bounties for skin designs, map designs, and other community oriented crowdsourcing. Community members will be able to stake GamerToken in order to joining monthly design contests, earn rewards, and take part in shaping content within popular games.

Something that we are very proud of is the working prototypes that are already live and fully functional. Community members have much more than just an idea and a roadmap to get behind. Our community can interact and play with a demo of our vision in the form of our first crypto-integrated game with Fiesta Online. You can earn tokens for creating a new character, slaying monsters, and completing quests.

The GamerToken Marketplace is also available in demo form to test out buying and selling tokenized items. When it’s fully launched, users will have enhanced ownership over their rare items which will be 100% controlled by them in their wallet. Rare items, such as legendary skins, will be able to be issued in limited quantities by our developer partner using our API. Creating rare items as non-fungible ERC-721 powered tokens makes their value dependent on their supply and unique history. Offering a mechanism for verifiability will empower traders with the ability to ensure scarcity in an ecosystem that is currently awash with fraud and uncertainty.

If you can get this integrated into lots of games this will be awesome! We live in a world where we're renting items in games and we don't actually own them but they're so valuable. I love projects like this that bring the value back to people rather than to the corporations.

Some of the reasons I appreciate GamerToken is that they've 1) got demos out 2) are building on top of an existing and expanding non-fungible ecosystem (Ethereum) while also 3) handling the scalability issues via sidechains (with Plasma relays on the roadmap).
