I am not in favor of forcing but having 1/2 books on Hindi alongside with there other books in school syllabus is not bad
If you are aware of the Indian school system every syllabus gives the option to take any second or third language while studying, i studied in ICSE and ISC board throughout my school life and you have the option to select any second language including your mother tongue (Indian languages), Sanskrit, Hindi, German, French and Spanish. If you are not interested to learn any language what is the big issue in that, the syllabus is giving you the option to take any second language and during my ISC i just learned four subjects, English, Physics, Chemistry, Maths and i had the option to take Biology too since i had good marks in ICSE examination but since i know what my future was i dropped Biology in the second term and focused on my core subjects.
If learning any language is your prime motive you have the freedom to do so and no one is stopping that  Tongue.

My advice is to improve the quality of education rather than fighting about including languages in school. When you hire people you will understand that you have to spend one year for them to understand the concept and what they studied is just raw basics and it is the biggest hurdle in India.

PS: I never studies all these languages in school but i am more than capable of handling many Indian languages because of my experience and my time spent in different states in India and abroad Tongue.

If you like to see people from south to learn the Hindi language as a mandatory subject then they can have the same argument to learn Tamil throughout India as it is the first known language and has a rich history of literature  Tongue. If people go outside their state and settle in a different state naturally they will learn the local language and it is not forced upon them, so the notion of forcing Hindi to make them handy is not a good argument.
Learning all the languages in the world is not a bad thing and it depends upon individual choice and you do not force everyone to follow because it is mandatory.
Even in the case of Hindi people in different state will have a different slang and how do you rectify that and make a common language, so forcing everyone to speak the same language is an impossible task.

Even when it comes to English language every state has their own slag and mix their local language when communicating, accept the diversity and respect every culture rather than forcing things.

we have Hindi in Punjab schools and by reading and learning Hindi it doesn't means we are converting or anyone is forcing us .. Roll Eyes even we have Sanskrit there too as additional language..... but its always good to learn the language which mostly uses by all Indians in most of the states..and even in Delhi schools we have Tamil, Sanskrit and Gurmukhi ( Punjabi ) alongside all the other languages  as additional language.. they can choose any .. also like I said I am not in favor of forcing but having 1/2 books on Hindi alongside with there other books in school syllabus is not bad ...atlest they will get something new to learn and read...like in Punjab we have few books in Hindi along with Gurmukhi and other languages.... & we are not losing anything by reading or learning hindi in punjab...

People from Chennai don't even understand Hindi and English so it's difficult to communicate with them. However when they come to Maharashtra, they have to speak in either two of these languages. Language barriers exist in the South, not much in the North. People who know Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Gujarati can easily understand Hindi so that's not a big issue compared with Tamil and Telugu speakers.

because we have hindi in pubjab school syllabus along side of gurumukhi  thats why punjabi people can understand hindi and dont face much problem when they go outside there state...but wen bhojpuri or gujarati comes to punjab then they dont face problem to communicate with locals cuz locals can speak and understand hindi with little bit mixture of punjabi.. punjabi which is normally speak by delhi and mumbai people is not real traditional gurumukhi... i use to say its modern punjabi ..  Cheesy

Don't you think we can consider hindi as main language? I am not in favar of mark it as universal language of india or force everyone to use but in india hindi is mainly used by the most of peoples in mostly all region and states of india.. for example if someone comes from punjab to bombay then he will use hindi not punjabi which is his main lauguage.. cuz if he use punjabi then 99% chance is that other person will not understand him... and same thing applys on, if anyone comes from southern part of india and go to punjab then he will use 99% hindi mostly with the mixture of little bit english.. so indirectly or directly everyone is connected with hindi and using daily...

Hindi is already known as the top official language used here with 139+ million people using it so it's possible to consider it the main language along with English. Hindi will never be considered a universal language in India as we are known for our diversity and should respect each and every language, not just Hindi or English. Also, India is not a Hindu country while the current Government is trying to make it one. Celerating Hindi divas is fine but Amit Shah too changed his words after receiving backlash.

I am going to respond to this only in universal language Tongue.

If you think you want Hindi for the entire country because you want identity make sure you go with the first language which is in fact Tamil and let the entire country learn that language and represent the first language to the world and then comes Sanskrit when it comes to the oldest languages, if you think enforcing Hindi language to each and everyone will be a great idea let us enforce the first known languages which has a long history in literature and other ancient importance which is Tamil and Sanskrit and represent it to the world Tongue.

The reason is i never knew Hindi ten years back and never had a need to learn the language, during school days i learned Hindi for 3 years in school as i was in ICSC board and after that never used Hindi for 20 years but after shifting to Mumbai i was forced to learn Hindi, Marathi and now some Punjabi because of my current GF Tongue.  You cannot force anything to anyone, if you are interested to learn a language then it is well and good but i am against these forced rules as India is a diverse country and it will be great if we keep that diversity intact.

If you force everyone to speak one language then you will not see unity but it will help in splitting the entire country apart. Historically we know what happened in Sri Lanka when they replaced English with Sinhala as their official language. So if you are looking for unity then language will not be a barrier.
