Actually i prefer choose-able list like this with text box for additional information.
But that format may have some limitations, for example it does not cover all cases, of course this forum cannot cover all cases that users need to report, it must be divided into certain cases.

I agree, dividing the option/case with reasonable amount is the hardest part.

And for the cases that are not available to select, the user has to select "other" item, and enter details there, it will be another hindrance  Roll Eyes

It could be solved by making "Other" item as default option on the list.

ya, I got it, but, I mean, when we select "Other", we will need to enter our report information there, this looks like we are repeating what we we are doing at the moment. Overall, if we keep working on this idea, I'm not sure it will become more useful in the future, sometimes, I find that entering information for each report helps us to have reports which more detailed than in general cases.
You could potentially implement a system like this, but have it optional. Although, then most people would likely not use the new implementation, and just continue writing up without categorizing their report. Honestly, I'd like to see us implement things that encourage reporting, rather than complicating or attempting to streamline the process like this, which in my opinion wouldn't benefit a lot of people.

I'd like to see the reporter badges implemented as an example, regardless what changes need to be made to make it work, as I believe that would increase the incentive for reporting posts. We aren't really struggling with lack of detailed reports in my opinion, but rather those reporting them.

There is a good tool called Roboform. Yes, it has an extension to the browser, but what you ask is completely in its functionality. You don't need to trust him with important data if you are paranoid. But creating passcards, erasing previously completed forms, as well as creating new passcards to help you fill out the forms you need, may well come in handy when using it. https://www.roboform.com/

Some time the way pop-up links comes up during Browsing, you maybe thinking is from forum. But the truth is different browser has their own pop-up links interface. Reporting a user is already been made easier in the forum and I don't think there is any reason for upgrade.

What I would like to see is a bigger comment box and not just one line to enter your text in.
I don’t think it would be terribly difficult to create a user script that could create predefined report messages.
suchmoon's script achieves both of these.

The one line can be of unlimited length, so the only real restriction is that reports can’t have line breaks.

AFAIK, the pop-up window that we see based on our previously entered data has nothing to do with the forum itself; I think it has to do with the browsers
Correct.

And here the system makes me constantly make unnecessary movements. She retains old commentaries on reports along with links to those specific reports that, apart from that particular case, are not needed anywhere else. Why keep these links?
The solution is easy: just delete them Smiley At least in Firefox that works: press arrow-down, press Delete.

What I would like to see is a bigger comment box and not just one line to enter your text in. My guess is that this is something that could easily be fixed (maybe?). Sometimes when you report a post, and your report includes several sentences that instruct the mod to take a look at a users' post history and you add links and mention which exact rules were broken, the report becomes quite long. It's hard to read when you have to move from left to right and it would be much clearer seeing it all in a bigger comment box.

With regards to any extensions, I have never installed them for this forum, I do not trust them
I completely share your sentiments. Every additional browser extension you install is an additional attack surface and an additional risk to your security and privacy. I use a very small number of browser extensions, all open source, and all targeted at improving security or privacy, blocking ads, blocking trackers, blocking javascript, and other such things. However, suchmoon's script is also open source, so can be easily reviewed to ensure it is not doing anything suspicious.

Still, if you don't want to use it, then another option might be to set up a mouse or keyboard macro. If you have a gaming mouse or keyboard then you might already have software which will let you do this. If not, then I'm sure you can find some open source software online. Set it up so if you hit a specific button, it enters the word "Plagiarism" followed by pasting the link from your clipboard and then hitting the "Submit" button.

Yeah, this is a feature of your browser, not the forum. You can see this if you log in via a new browser and try to report something, you will not see any of these drop down options appear. There are probably browser extensions you could find which would let you specify the drop down options which appear.

I get round this by using suchmoon's reporting script, available here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/hack-one-click-mod-report-not-for-the-faint-of-heart-5103488. You just paste the link in to the relevant text box and click the relevant button, and it fires off a report with the formatting you specify. You don't even need to navigate away from the thread and to the reporting page.

I would like to make a proposal to the forum admins for revision of the reporter's pop-up windows.
~Snipped~
Why not make tooltips without links from previous cases, but just one suitable word that was universal in all previous reports on such a violation of the rules, where a link is required.
~Snipped~
Then we just choose the prepared answer: plagiarism, and add our link. If there are saved prepared answers based on past reports, then it is easier to do them all without links,
AFAIK, the pop-up window that we see based on our previously entered data has nothing to do with the forum itself; I think it has to do with the browsers that we use and that's something that the forum software might not be able to interfere with altering a portion of its data while saving anything that it doesn't count as a link [I'm not a back-end coder or developer by any means, so don't quote me on this one].

Having said those, most of us would probably welcome having a set of predefined messages in a form of a pop-up window.
