I do not approve of any filing of an application. The word apply was translated by my translator. In the original, I asked about when I can qualify for a rank, and not apply.
Lol, you don't need to approve--and I think there's probably a mix-up in language going on in the translation.  It's not a big deal, because I think everyone here understood what you meant to write.  I'm not convinced Coolcryptovator thinks you actually meant that Legendary status is something a member has to apply for.  You've been around long enough to know that, and I'd think Coolcryptovator would know that as well.

Outside the fact that legendary rank is gotten through post count after 14 days, can this rank also be purchased as the copper rank?
No.  The Copper membership isn't actually a rank, because you can be a member of any rank (Newbie-->Legendary) and buy that title, which is exactly what it is (although if you're a Newbie with a Copper membership it allows you to bypass some of the Newbie restrictions on posting.  There's no need for it if your rank is Jr. Member or above if my memory serves me correctly).

I am a little confused about what you mean by apply for Legendary? I don't think anyone needs apply or need approval from the admin to become Legendary. If I can remember correctly, during my rank up just works regular activities. Once desired activities achieve then I become Legendary. Whatever post you make above 14 per week, only 14 activities will add to your profile and that's how I become Legendary. I am not aware of any other logic since I hadn't get the advantage of that.

I'm not stupid enough to seriously think that to get a rank, you need to make some kind of application, as if it were a signature campaign.  Cheesy
At this point, i have no seen any contradictory comment via this scenario, but let us try to understand that both of us are arriving in the same fact partially, because we all are knowledgeable and also aware very well that in every rank to turnup it determine by activities, so the same points of yours are similar, and since i joined the forum i noticed that their is no Manipulation of any kind towards management, so let us not emphasise much or understand this in a different dimensions or way.

I want to point out that I do not regularly look at my own profile, so my likely, I was promoted on June 30July 1 (when I posted after the new activity period), but did not notice until yesterday.
Ah, that might explain the problem here.  I was always under the impression that the transition from Hero-->Legendary happened on the day of the activity period change.  I'm pretty sure that was the case when I made it to Legendary, because I was anticipating it for weeks on end (I finally made it when I had an activity of something like 1064).
If you have the same number of posts that you do activity, and you have made an average of less than 14 posts per activity period, you could potentially rank up on a day other than the start of the activity period. The activity threshold to rank up to legendary can be anything between 775 and 1030, and is not necessarily a number divisible by 14.

If anyone got ranked up to Legendary (or any other rank for that matter) in any other point during an activity period than the first day, I'd be interested to hear from.  That--to my knowledge--isn't how it works.

Edit:

If you have the same number of posts that you do activity, and you have made an average of less than 14 posts per activity period, you could potentially rank up on a day other than the start of the activity period.
Ah yes, that's true and somewhere in my brain I knew that was a possibility, because I've increased my activity midway through activity periods before when I haven't posted for a few days.  I appreciate your input.

But yesterday I saw an interesting topic with obtaining Legendary, where the following statement was:

Today while reading responses to threads I had posted in, I noticed one of my posts, I read the post, looked at my forum handle and title, and saw that I have officially been promoted to a Legendary member.

And since the last recount of activity was on June 30, I have a question. It turns out that the Legendary rank can be obtained on any day between Activity recounts, and not necessarily on the day the Activity is recalculated? For example, my Activity on July 14 will become 784 and I can already apply for a new rank. If I am not given a new rank exactly on July 14, the day of receiving 784 Activity, then I should wait for the next possible promotion on July 28, on the day of receiving the 798 Activity, or there is a possibility that my rank may be raised on any day between July 14 and 28. July, for example?
I want to point out that I do not regularly look at my own profile, so my likely, I was promoted on June 30July 1 (when I posted after the new activity period), but did not notice until yesterday.

My understanding is that you will become a legendary member at a specific activity threshhold that is between 775 and 1030, and will vary from account to account (assuming you have the required 1000 merit, which you have). I also understand that you should rank up within an hour of meeting all the critera for ranking up (having the required activity and merit).

If you always have more posts than you have activity, and you always post on the day of the new activity period, then you will rank up on the day of the activity period. If you consistantly post two days after the beginning of each new activity period, you will rank up two days after the start of the activity period.

Well, that is, my 1st first post in a new 14-day period always changes the amount of my activity, the last time it was on June 30th, the next it will be on July 14th, then July 28th. It turns out that I can only count on a new rank these days?

Yeah the first post in the 14 day period adds 14 activity to you.

And yeah you'll just have to wait for the next periods to be able to rank up.

There's no predetermined activity points to get legendary though and I think it was set to be a random number and people have waited a long time to get it in the past (some right at the end of the 1100 limit). I just wouldn't wait on it, I think merit is the better stat anyway.

No, those users always wrote more than 14 posts per period, so their counters, like mine, always changed strictly by 14. Although I saw those users whose activity counter changed with each post written, because they wrote very little in 14 -day period, but it's not about them at all.

My question is when is the Legendary rank given? Strictly on the days of recalculation of activity or on any day between periods of recalculation of activity?
If their posts and activities are always capped at 14 for each 14 days, when their lucky numbers knock their doors, they will rank up at the activity-recounting day.

  • User A: has abundant posts previously
    • User A will rank up after they make at least 1 post and that post is counted into 1 new activity. Activity will be counted every one hour, perhaps.
    • Because all previously abundant posts will be counted all into 14 activity for the new period, even that user only makes 1 post in a new period.
  • User B: does not have abundant posts previously
    • the one will have to make enough 14 posts in a new period, get it all counted to rank up.
    • It means user B will be ranked up either in the day 1 or day 14 of a new period. Depends on how fast or slow he reaches the 14 new posts.

You can call the first post in each 14-day period is a mark for potential 14 activity point.
If you have 13+ uncounted posts before the new period, they will be all counted as 13 activity points, so totally you have 14 new activity points and rank up.

I believe it is the answer for your question.  Wink
Can I get more than 14 activity in two week period?

No. However, you can technically get more than 14 activity in a fortnight if you sign up in between periods, but you can't get more than 14 activity in a fortnightly period. For instance, if the period starts on a Wednesday and you sign up on Tuesday you can get 14 points on Tuesday and another 14 on Wednesday providing the period has started. You will then have 28 activity points but won't be able to get any more until two weeks' time when the new period starts.

@ratimov, it's dependent on their first post in the 14 days. unless an actual recount (that Theymos does manually run sometimes) changes your post count or activity - this is probably quite rare though.

  • Activity points will be recounted after each 14 days. It is only true for members who always reach the cap of 14 activities within each 14 days

Actually, I think there's an internal rule after 300 activity and posts that your activity goes up by 14 after your first post.

I could not totally understand your discussion.

In my understanding, I feel as follows
  • Legendary member rank will be given with a random number of activity, from to
  • Activity points will be recounted after each 14 days. It is only true for members who always reach the cap of 14 activities within each 14 days
  • Assume if I make only 4 posts from 30 June to 14 July, and my lucky number to rank up to Legendary will be in the next recount. However, I only make 4 posts for the next 14 days. It means, I will be able to rank up any day in the third 14-days period, if I make enough 20 posts, even within an hour.
  • Is this what you feel weird about some ranked-up members in your local boards?
