I experience this too I tried to send merit and for a mistake, I reload the webpage and it send another merit accidentally, so now I always close the tab once I send merit for not having a double send, or else there's another prompt message will show up we sent or 5 mins before sending again with the same account well just a thought.

As I recall so far I haven't submitted a smerit on the same post for less than 30 seconds, so I just found out that there is this warning if someone send a merit to the same post if done within a short enough time.

Usually I will close the tab after the merit is send and look for other user's posts for me to send the merit. It's a habit of mine, but I think it's good to have that warning as it can prevent double merit submissions for the same post when we don't want to.

I think opera mini and f5 is trying to make the work of merit source easy by automating and doubling merit issuance  Grin
Meanwhile, witch hunters will accused it as merit abuse.

Anyhow, this is not only for Opera but to most of all browser coz it's the cause of html form when refreshing a page after the submit button is clicked.

It would require some extra work on the server side to avoid duplicated form submission. It is up to admin to decide if it is worth it - and which forum section should be modified.

I think they must implement blockchain technology to avoid double-spending

This has happened to me with opera mini. I was to send 2 merits to a user and I ended up sending 4 merits, though you will be warned and if you continue, it will duplicate.
What I do is, after issuing merits, I will return to the previous page and then refresh. And be sure I want to perform a new one.

In general, there is no token which would block 'duplicated' actions. If you send merit, you may save the whole POST sent to server and then redo it (using curl etc). Additional merit will be added.

The "send merit" is always opened in a new tab, at least for me, so when I send merit I just close that new tab and go back to the old thread/post. If you want to see your merit there, then you can F5.
So simple Smiley

Anytime I am on the send merit page, I intentionally leave it sometimes for minute to pass to resend 1 more merit to the same user after I refresh the page. I have made the mistaje before when I was new on the forum, I refresh the page and another merit was sent to the same user I sent merit to, then I knew about it and I have been very careful about it. It is true that it always warn if you try to use it immediately after you have just sent merit to the same user, warning that you are sending merit to the same user, but after some seconds or a minute pass, it will send the merit successfully again after refreshing the page.

theymos have solution something like this "remerit" but it's for the clicking the merit button twice.
Alright, you now can't merit the same post with the same amount within 60 seconds.
The 60 seconds apply to the "refresh" button too. The solution is easy: don't refresh the page Tongue

and then refresh the page through the browser or F5, the merit will be sent again. Although if you do this without a short break, then a window will pop up warning you about merit sending to the post twice.
It will only proceed once you click the resend button, so it still the user's fault if he will proceed.

So I don't think we will see a solution or kind of fix for this since this is not a big problem.

Tried it and it seems you're right, I was warned about the double merit post. I suspect this happens, because once you send merit you're redirected to a page that contains the same form with method=POST. So, when you refresh, it redoes the action of the form.

It doesn't happen with report, because you're redirected to the thread's sub-forum.
