you're likely to hit the rock while attempting to trace the mod payment from the forum bitcoin address. Only OgNasty, the forum treasurer, has access to the forum's payment statistics.
None of this is correct Shocked

What happened to the position of OgNasty? Don't tell me he was laid off; the last I heard, he was the treasurer of the forum bank. But I know things can change quickly here.

_____________++++++++++_________

Can your provide the forum's BTC address here. Right now, I'm too lazy to do anything. I need to double-check something.

Just curios, did theymos pay all the mods for their work or were they doing it as a voluntary job without any demand of money?
This is Bitcointalk, Mods have their Bitcoin address in their profile. Payments are public Smiley

Payments are public based on the transactions that can be seen on Blockchain, but is it really possible to categorize where they're getting those payments from?
I don't think theymos releases that kinda data publicly, so he/she may use whatever address to send the mods' salaries to their addresses. As well, he gave estimates and not the exact numbers in USDT per each mod paid.

You don't have to be a genius to work it out. 5 minutes of research and you'd have your answer  Cheesy.

Mods are chosen once every century and must be well-paid job. I'm not interested in the actual amount, but I'd like to know if the salaries are dynamic or static (does it increase over time?)

@Stedsm, don't waste your time, Theymos is a bitcoin and privacy expert, and you're likely to hit the rock while attempting to trace the mod payment from the forum bitcoin address. Only OgNasty, the forum treasurer, has access to the forum's payment statistics.

How are they going to feel the way their position be handled in the forum because, I believe things has changed positively compared to their time, things like high payment and influence in the forum.

If addresses in one transaction belong to different Mods, I can take a guess Wink Payments are higher than I expected.

I guess it's both. We're essentially seen as volunteers and not technically employees but we are paid a modest amount for our contributions based on how much we've done that month. If staff weren't paid we'd be going through multiple mods every year and despite even being paid a fair few mods do just leave for whatever reason.

The criteria of pay includes other factors too but as a common member I am not aware of what are the factors included in mods pay and if it only depends on their numbers of reports handled surely they will be handling more reports then only more pay or all of the forum mods are too rich. Cheesy just sarcasm no offence fellas.

@OP.mods of mining board and politics were removed after some controversies and Lauda the remaining members were removed only after their long inactive and still some of them being a staff even though they didn't use the forum for years.

Staffs receive salary but it depends on their works, reports they handled ...
Inactive, no report handle, no salary.
I finally got the forum's 2013 taxes finished (after an extension).

Here's the final accounting summary for 2011-2013. All values are USD at transaction time because this makes the numbers more easy to understand, though the forum only holds BTC.

Code:
Income
      Donations     Ads
2011       3081    1545
2012      13291   21014
2013      42174  243233

Expenses
      Infrastructure  Development   Mods  Grants    Tax
2011             213            0      0       0    109
2012              11          276      0       0   3973
2013             194       185751  81027    2802  15841

Here are the totals for 2014 up to now. These numbers are in BTC.
- Income: 522
- Expenses: 1505 (1257 Slickage, the rest mostly mods)

Also, 250 BTC was probably lost when treasurer paraipan died, unfortunately. Recovering that BTC is maybe still possible, but it's probably unlikely.

The forum currently has about 5568 BTC in reserve.

Code:
2015:
Income: About $144,000
Expenses - Forum software project: $849,400
Expenses - Mods and others: About $104,000

2016:
Income: About $178,000
Expenses - Forum software project: $36,260
Expenses - Mods and others: About $85,000
Expenses - Hosting etc: About $27,000

2017 !!!VERY TENTATIVE!!!
Income: About $1,065,000
Expenses - Forum software project: About $159,000
Expenses - Mods and others: About $120,000
Expenses - Hosting etc: About $40,000

@Ratimov
Another case might be @frodocooper for being very strict in moderating the mining boards and even though that led to almost no spam on those boards, it definitely resulted in some controversial decisions...
- Based on the "second line of this post", he didn't leave the position in question.

I know just about 2

Lauda - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17608448

and then a one Deathwing - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3126906

There could be more cases

I also read that about @lauda, as far as I know, this lauda has been a lot of issues, and I also know that many members here on the forum are in trouble because it seems that there is also arrogance, though. it is undeniable that she was very active here in the forum before.

Then I also read something here in the forum that she also had an issue with running a large amount, I just can't remember what topic or section it was. Lauda also has many backers who used to support her.

One case I knew is Dabs.

Likely he sent request to forum members asked for loan. Let me check to confirm it.
What happened to Dabs? His last posts are about taking 2 huge loans, and he hasn't posted since.
I don't know.

Just knew that in one controversay topic, theymos said he disagreed with Dabs (or it is about Lauda, I am not sure) about his latest activities (at that point). I did not follow that discussion but later (months maybe), Dabs was no longer a staff.

By mentioning him here, I did not imply he is a scammer. Just one case of moderator lost his job.

I remember theymos made one post about it. You can continue searching if you are interested in.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/staff-dabs-abusing-merit-5190024

By the way, interesting to see four years ago, people fighted seriously about meriting behavior and now I see they are mertting many shit posts and nobody talked about it.

Forum changed a lot recent years, in bad way.

The question is rather to the old users of the forum. Does the forum known cases when a moderator was fired, or, shall we say, excluded from the list for some kind of abuse? I know cases when moderators left the forum and gave up their powers because they did not have enough time for it. I have never heard of a layoff. Have there ever been such cases in the history of the forum?

What I know Lauda is croatian moderator before and correct me if I'm wrong he was fired due to involvement of alleged extortion attempt.

Here is the case posted by Quickseller https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/laudatmanminifrijironmarvel2owlcatz-extortion-attempt-1764757 don't know if this is the real reason but this heat up argument between them before.

Bitcoin wiki moderator, I wonder how did you know about that? You registered in 2018, he was last active in 2015. Were you here with your main?
What if he used the forum search button or ninjastic.space and skimmed through the past posts? Does this still mean he has a main?

Even if he has a main, is it against the forum rules?

I also wonder what happened with the asylum moderator FlyingHellfish, anyone knows?
As far as I know, he just went mute.

Maybe lets see if others could post more.

Was reading through some post here and I found it, does it mean that isn't the same as other mod? Then when I clicked on the profile I noticed the tag wasn't there but reading through wiki I noticed it again finally off then, so while this thread pop as notification I decided to tender the profile as to know why.
Please is there anything I am not getting correctly? Please correct me if I am wrong.

A user can join a forum today but in as much such user is active reading through post then there's a lot for him or her to discover in the forum, so I may not be as old as you think over here but all thread and topic are clickable and readable here so when making findings you could see what others may not see., And it was through this forum I also learn how to use Electrum wallet and many more. I learn almost every day here reading and taking notes of most of the happenings.
