What rates are you looking for?  I can do you a deposit for longer term, or a shorter loan to help my timing and liquidity.  What volume are you thinking of?

I've got a few bitcoins that are just sitting around, so I thought I could try loaning em out. Judging by this sub it looks like its fairly common.

Could anyone give me some advice/tips?

Cheers

you can start loans for newbies and those new to bitcoin like my thread here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--54048

many want small short term loans, but since they are new and dont get into the lending section, you can offer your loans there.

of course you can also ask them for their info, so you can be sure they pay back.

IBB loans are interest free, but we do accept gratuity, thats how we operate. Some days we make money, some days we dont.

You might try talking to the IBB guys, Islamic Bank of Bitcoin. They've been doing small loans for some time and making a profit. See what they have to say about doing it.
