ONU and USA already shown they don't give a shit about what NC does with his people.

And as far I know there is no NC resistance inside NC that is fighting the government, they are all starving or in concentration camp or dead, so who would receive the money?

this would lead to more bad publicity than good: 'yes, we got rid of an unpopular dictator this time, but what happens when the funding goes to deposing of a popular dictator?' ask the world leaders

"An unpopular dictator" Unpopular where? in the US? North Korea's leader is for the North Koreans to decide not for a foreign empire!

At least it's not the specter of "assassination markets" again. If regulators ever figure out what that would mean we have big problems.  Undecided

Haha that made me laugh probably made Kim Jong-un laugh hopefully. You know that Korea can fire their nuclear missiles quite far.

Not really, they have no long range ballistic missiles. North Korea is quite a poor country, one of the poorest. It's just that they spend almost all their money on the military(It's practically a military state), which is what makes them "appear" powerful. It's actually China, that's the powerful one, since if China cut ties with North Korea(Trading wise), it would fall practically instantly.

Whoever's doing that campaign is 100% a scammer. To overthrow Kim, you'd need to overthrow China since they're the ones trading and sending supplies to North Korea. China has  GDP of over 17 trillion and a very strong military(not as strong or high-tech as the U.S, but strong nevertheless). China spends more on it's military in a week than Bitcoin's entire marketcap is worth.

That fundraiser is an absolute scam. You guys are in way over your head haha lol.

Why not raise funds to overthrow Putin or the Sauds while we are at it

Sauds? Why would you want to do that?
I see them as being benefactors of Bitcoin in the future.  Grin

I think someone watched "The Interview" a few too many times and has some very naive ideas as to the real situation in the DPRK.

Secondly...

"The first objective in our mission is to supply involved North Korean defectors with the resources that they need to establish a safe communication network throughout the country."

So are we sending defectors back to North Korea to establish this 'safe communication network throughout the country'?  Only a handful of North Korean's are even permitted to travel within the country, among a huge number of other obstacles.

I think the project creator is having a laugh or else is hoping that some ignorant fools might throw their BTC at this.

So far they haven't gotten any donations. If they actually pull this off and manage to depose the Kim dynasty, this would be HUGE for bitcoin. Imagine the positive press for bitcoin if it accomplished something like this.

Maybe the FBI should use its seized bitcoins to meet their goal in one shot!

FBI would hate the idea that the power to overthrow a government's leader is in the hands of the people.

Sounds like a Scammer tag would be needed on this
Unless I see some action and drones flying into the DPRK
Then we have other things to worry about ...

Looks at prize tier you will receive a thank you and useless crud for giving me money
And it scales
Mumble I propose we set crowdfunding standards Now before we get a notorious rep for scams ...
