Oh come on! Let us not fall for these dirty tactics. We all know this is PURELY business. Of course, Ethereum creator would always make abuzz about anything that has to do with Bitcoin MAINLY because Bitcoin is STILL number one in terms of its popularity, transactions and value. Not to mention it is way too ahead from all others, Ethereum included. Otherwise stated, the Ethereum creator has all the right to have angst about Bitcoin and everything that has a relation to it because nothing ever came close to Bitcoin. There is no real competition so to speak.

I am just wondering, though, whether Ethereum founder meant Craig Wright a fraud or Bitcoin a fraud? Or does his statement connote both? Nevertheless, I think these accusations are baseless and are purely matters of business strategy.

Baseless? You must be new.

Vitalik Buterin has been around for a long time, and I know him well enough to know that he doesn't consider Bitcoin and Ethereum to be competitors.

Craig Wright is a fraud. That is a fact. So, I agree with Vitalik. Why did the conference have such a person as a speaker? It only makes Bitcoin and the entire crypto space look bad.

He is in the conference because it is necessary to create a narrative different from the current one. It is necessary that someone can determine which way to go, and this path must be in agreement with the main sponsors of this fraud and these conferences.

For me the reason for him not being Satoshi is much simpler and less technical than any other. Everyone, absolutely everyone who exchanged direct messages with Satoshi always said they believed he was a very young and very shy person.

I agree with Vitalik. If the conference organizers had any respect to their audience, they should not give a person of dubious claims any platform to spread his self-serving lies. Having a fraudster as one of the speakers puts the other speakers in a bad light. One gets to wonder why people behind the scenes wants Craig Wright out front.

You do not need Vitalik Buterin to call Craig White a fraud. Craig White has already made a fool of himself by claiming that he was Satoshi and trying to deceive journalists. He is also running around trying to file patents, when Satoshi released his work as open source. Given this background,  Craig’s claims of being Satoshi are obviously fraudulent.

that's why this court case with write and the other creator's estate will be so much fun to watch. get the popcorn!

That doesn't change the fact that Craig is not the creator of Bitcoin!

Are you for real? He's using Satoshi's name to make himself popular. If he was the founder there were numerous things that he could do. He could for instance sign the message with the coins from the genesis block, but he can't do that because he's not the one. He could also prove that he's the owner of Satoshi's bitcointalk account, but he also can't do that. Craig shouldn't be allowed to speak until he either backs out and apologizes or proves that he's the one. I'm with Vitalik on this one, liars like him should not be taken seriously and allowed to manipulate the community.

Vitalik is one to speak... did they not pre-mine coins and distributed it amongst his partners, before they went public with

Ethereum? Yes, pre-mining is not "fraud", but it is unethical to say the least. Satoshi was the only miner in the beginning, but

he/she/they did not touch the coins that he/she/they mined back then. Vitalik and his founders made millions with their

coins.  Roll Eyes

Satoshi Nakamoto remains a mystery. No one knows the true identity of the multi-millionaire pseudonymous creator of bitcoin.
At the Deconomy 2018 conference in Seoul, South Korea, Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, called Craig Wright, who claims to be a Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, for “fraud”, and asked why he was allowed to speak.

Buterin’s words came during Wright’s presentation at the conference. Commenting on the self-appointed bitcoin creator is unclear, as the crowd began to cheer the words of the founder of Ethereum.
Vitalik Buterin had claimed in the past that he did not believe that Craight Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto, that he could easily have his identity by making a signature from the first block of bitcoin and putting it in public. Instead, argues Vitalik, I made a complex blog post and showed that signature to some people.
