Well it's good news anyways. They've tried by removing the blanket ban and focusing on regulated projects. Ideally, the problems were with the unregulated ones since they were scamming people. They had to make those changes to pave way for the regulated projects.
And I also agree with you, we might go very bullish 2019/20

They are introducing certification for advertisers!! This is a stupid step. What expertise does google possess to vet advertisers? And what happens if one of these turn out to be a scam? People shouldn’t start assuming that any ad shown by google is legit.
I can't see why certification is a stupid step? In fact we should be grateful that Google has added this requirement. It may look stupid but when it comes to consumer protection aka the  protection of the users of Google products, knowing that the ads being shown to you has somehow got through a screening process by means of certification I can have a peace of mind that if I buy this product or participated in its services it would be legit and it won't turn out into a scam. Before we get mad in something or even think about its unfair we must identify first what will we benefit from the said decision.

Exactly that. You can have a somehow peace of mind that it's not a scam

And it does not cost anything to Google, as google isn't certificating anyone. Google is only allowing exchanges already certificated by us and Japan regulations.

In time other countries will join that list, probably us and Japan are the most secure ones for now

I think banking system may benefit from the blockchain technology. And it will be better for everyone.

A swift(international transfer) costs about 45 usd and takes about 2 business day to complete.

If you never made one and think that is not your problem, one day you will probably have to do some. Xrp is working to make these kind of Transactions almost free and instantaneous.

I have conducted enough international transfers back in the days, and they are indeed expensive, but that's what I have Bitcoin for. No more for me.

The whole idea of banks allowing you to suddenly enjoy much faster transfer settlements is where the tricky part starts to pop up. Banks don't need a blockchain or XRP to provide you faster transfer settlements, and I'm pretty confident that banks (and governments) don't want people to enjoy that level of convenience. They thrive on making everyone wait and charge insane amounts of intermediary fees. No way they will get rid of that.

Google unban, Banks getting involved in XRP, Nations going towards legalization. Fundamentals are improving little by little everyday.

That's actually not a positive. If you take into consideration that XRP transactions are by definition reversible, you know why banks are feasting on their technology.

Fudamentals for crypto are improving when people acknowledge the essence of why Bitcoin and other currencies are so important. It's mind boggling how the sentiment changed in favor of XRP in the last year or so. Bitcoin? Shitcoin. Ethereum? Shitcoin. That's unseen and all coming from how people don't understand what we're trying to do here.

I don't see xrp as an enemy or competitor to bitcoin. They have different objectives. Apple isn't a Unix enemy fot example. There dozens of os out there.

This coinmarketcap rank makes people have the wrong ideia about these assets. It's not a competition

I could never see the point behind a blanket ban on all Crypto currency related Ads. Take a selective group of employees and identify the good services, from the bad services and only allow Crypto currency advertisements that are reputable and legitimate.

Yes, I agree some advertisements for "bad" services must be banned and it will even be beneficial for Bitcoin if it was banned. Also, a good customer review and reporting service will help to curb some of the scams that are doing the rounds.  Wink

I agree with you, much better approach would be to check all who apply for advertising - but it is obviously too expensive or too complicated even for such big company such as Google. On the other hand Google is check individually for their AdSense service, and they pay close attention to that question, so this means that such an approach would be possible also for AdWords service.

Since Google is only include USA&Japan in permitted countries I do not think that means too much globally for cryptocurrency, especially because it is only about exchanges. I also agree that exchanges like Binance or Coinbase do not need too much this type of advertising, they have good referral systems and their users promote them in the best possible way.

The conclusion is that Google and before them Facebook are looking for ways to get a part of crypto cake, which is quite normal in the business world.

Yeah, exchanges in the us andUS and Japan are highly regulated and the chance to be a scam is minimal.

Google will make a lot of money with this decision, as exchanges have lots of money to spend with advertisement.

Google is not doing anything for  crypto, just making money

Exactly, they needed to take a piece of a billion dollar business of crypto so it makes sense for them to uplift their crypto ad bans. However, I don't think it will bring a significant impact to the current price or at least see a reversal from bearish to bullish sentiments though. We all know that Facebook has a similar U-turn earlier but it didn't push the price a bit. As far as trading platform like Binance or Coinbase, those exchanges doesn't need too much advertising, they are already well-known and didn't need such promotions or ads to reach potential customers.

It's nice to hear this and it is really a smart choice to only advertise exchanges instead if ICOs. Altcoins that are already listed has lower risks compared to ICOs so this will help new investors to study the system before they even get totally burned. I hope Binance would always get promoted so they will also have a great experience while trading.

Breaking: Google to Reverse Crypto Ad Ban for Exchanges Advertising in US, Japan

The U.S. tech giant Google is set to update its ad policy in October, reallowing some crypto businesses to advertise on its platform. The company announced this in an official post Tuesday, September 25.

According to the official announcement, starting in October Google will allow registered cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise on its Google Adwords platform, targeting the U.S. and Japanese audiences. The announcement says:

“Advertisers will need to be certified with Google for the specific country in which their ads will serve. Advertisers will be able to apply for certification once the policy launches in October.”

This decision follows an announcement in March that all crypto-related businesses will be banned from buying ads on Google Adwords, described by industry insiders as “unfair” and “troubling.”

This is a small step toward total ban, but this is a bullish news.

Overall, the fundamentals of the blockchain sector as a whole are improving. 2019 or 2020 may be a great year.
