Mining tokens on the Ethereum blockchain is pretty interesting. I remember reading from someone who posted about it a few weeks ago. I don't know if 0xBitcoin has a future or not -- and to be honest, I doubt it, because none of these ERC tokens claiming to be "bitcoin" knock offs have panned out -- but I can see this being an interesting development, allowing ICOs to launch minable utility tokens. It would be interesting to see an ICO launched with the understanding that "unsold tokens will be mineable", for example.
There is no difference between ico that applied POW after launched of the ico itself. It can be considered as another ERC20 compliant token too. What was the advantage of mine this coin in ethereum network? If we are seeing about Ebtc and then it can become an example of this coin will be the same as ebtc itself but it's just mineable.
Yeah, I had Ebtc in mind as an example of an ERC token that didn't have utility, and went nowhere. The addition of mining isn't going to make a useless shit token any more attractive.
To me, the advantage of mining a utility token, particularly from an ICO that makes unsold tokens minaeble, could be that it allows for a wider distribution, promotes interest, and avoids the risk of the developer dumping the excess coins. I think some promising ICO will eventually try it, so it will be interesting to see how it works out.
