$100 not likely, too many buying Bitcoins when price falling.
Only possible if some idiot dumped a lot of coins at once, like 100,000 Bitcoins

Next week is here and the lowest price was around 400. Wanna make another guess?

Common , if the title would have been 400 ,people would still have laughed one week ago.
But many of those really pissed their pants the last two days.

OP!  Any news on the below $100 ETA?

It's getting a bit closer to $100............Dont' think we'll ever see it that low again!  Too much demand for it now to drop under $500 i think.
I know if it dropped to $500 i'd probably run out and buy a few more BTC at that price.

I bet Alessio Rastani feels like a f#cking retard right now!!!! The worst thing about traders is when they try to be f#cking physics!!! If I wanted to know the future I would just break out my Ouija board. Its a clear sign that any time any of these f#cking analysts or traders make big claims like this. The market will go in the exact other direction. Stock Market perfect example... Upgrades and downgrades.... Yeah it might pop in that direction for 1-3 days but then stand by for it to go the other way,,, they predict that shit at the end of a move to get the final exhaust buyers in there that feel like the missed the train and jump on just as it goes over the fucking cliff... That BOA shit about 1300 was a perfect example of that bullshit on wall street.. Yeah it has potential to be at 1300 but profsionals aren't going to buy it at 1200 for a small 8% gain so that every person that bought it at 1k sells at 1300 and the guy can't get out with their large position...

BTC could well now be into its stabilization phase.

This is where there have been enough coins mined and the prospect of getting the rest wills start to look like the preserve of the few deep pocketed miners. Most will abandon mining as it get harder and the investment goes up. They are costing more to produce.

If this is a phase with BTC finding its true price, then the speculators will make a lot more money, both BTC and other currencies.

After all, what is value and wealth. Are you thinking short term or long term?

Can someone explain why someone who calls BTC at $10000 is fine (up 14 times from current price) but someone calling $100 (down 7.25 from current price) is crazy...

I think I can.

The reason $100 is unlikely - only a factor or 2 more likely than $0 (which you might think is likely, but that's another story) - is because when the price was $120, Second Market started taking investments that could not leave the market place for 12 months. Tens of millions have gone into the market that can't come out for a long time.  Meanwhile the rally has attracted ten of thousands of investors and traders into the market. Every one of them would have to leave along with $$$ that was there previous to $120.

So unless someone just wants to dump 100k coins on a market order, which would never happen for obvious reasons, $100 is prettu unlikely unless we pass it along the way to $0.

Meanwhile 10k is only about 8.5x the ATH. And BTC went up about 60x in value this year.  So its not unheard of.

I've you have been around for a while you might have noticed that the bottom of each crash is higher than the peak of the previous bubble. So below $300 is unlikely.

Also it makes more sense to use a log scale when buying/selling bitcoin.

It will keep dropping. People would have already been trying to buy up 'cheap' coins at $600-$700, but they're not.
They will continue to wait until it bottoms out at around $100.

See all those places where the squiggly line is going up? That's people buying.

Not going to have the same drastic effect of April due to . 1)Lack of Blockchain forking 2) Lack of Exchange Singularity 3) Lack of Additional onset panic from the prior two concerns.  We didn't have a blockchain split, we had a whale dump 5000 coins on a low moral day, with misinterprited news and he dumped 5000 more after the ending of the GoxLoop™ and was able to get his coins back +40%... dont let the dream drive you to greed.
Yeah, it'l blow over within a few weeks. Might take a while to get back to the old levels if china really is backing out, but personally I can live with a tenfold increase every year instead of the 100fold we had until recently.

Bitcoins are going to stabilize in the double digits. It was $13 in January, anything $20-$50 is a good price for a 100%-500% increase. You can't expect huge gains like this to be sustainable.

In reality $5 would be a good price based on current utility as a currency. Might shake out all the speculators at least.

Actually I heard it is going to $0.01, so everyone sell right now and jump in when it hits that number.   Roll Eyes

Sounds like an amazing buying opportunity. Nothing has changed with bitcoin except that people who thought its future was mostly in China are now crapping their pants with fear. I never thought China was the future of bitcoin -- it's a Communist country with an extremely authoritarian government. America, Europe, India, the Middle East, and other parts of the world will be more than happy to buy cheaper bitcoins from the unfortunate sellers who thought this revolutionary new technology was just a quick speculative pump-and-dump driven by China.

It will happen. Concern is quickly going to turn into panic.

If it goes that low it will have hit full capitulation, the end result of that is usually a complete wipeout.
