Second, is this token listed on Kucoin? because if it's not listed on kucoin, how come you sent it to kucoin? as it appears according to your story, he is not yet listed.
It's possible in scenarios when the native coin has the same address format as the token.

For example: Let's say he'd intended to send ETH to his deposit address 0x012345.... but instead sent an ERC20 ETH Token to it,
the exchange will not credit that deposit if they do not support the token but the transaction will proceed since the address can receive the token.

Hello,

I have a somewhat unusual request. Namely, it is about an erroneous transaction. I accidentally sent an unlisted token to my KuCoin address. The amount has been credited to my address, but does not show up in my KuCoin account, it only shows up in the block explorer.

I have been in contact with support for some time now, however I am constantly being turned away and not directed to the technical department. Since KuCoin have the private keys to this address, there is also a technical way to recover the tokens from my KuCoin address.

Support has already admitted that the tokens can be saved once they implement the token. Only no one can tell me if this will ever happen.

So now my call to the community: I offer 1000 USD of the saved amount to the person who provides the crucial help to save the tokens.

Maybe someone who knows a member of the technical team at KuCoin and persuades them to take up my case. As I said, the support refuses to take up the matter, although I have already assured that I will pay for their effort.

I can send a screenshot of my KuCoin account and the link to the address in Block Explorer if needed. So everyone can make sure that this is a real request and not a scam.

Anyone who can help me, please drop me a personal message.

Thanks

First, what token are you referring to that you sent to the kucoin address? Second, is this token listed on Kucoin? because if it's not listed on kucoin, how come you sent it to kucoin? as it appears according to your story, he is not yet listed. or if it's already listed and you sent it to another address, that's what can be said if you have a big problem.

Then, I think the 3rd option you can do, although there is no guarantee that you will be answered, is try to contact the developer who created the token you are talking about, in this way, even if he replies to you, there is a hope that you will recover this token. Because if the problem is with the kucoin management platform, any member here in the forum can't do anything about it.

Not sure if the will answer, but you may want to ask KuCoin if/when they plan on listing the coin and be prepared to wait it out.  Could be tough if the coin was delisted.  Can also try this if you haven't already:  https://kucoin.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/signin?return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fkucoin.zendesk.com%2Fhc%2Fen-us%2Farticles%2F8353401857945-How-to-Apply-for-Token-Recovery-from-Specific-Types-of-Wrong-Deposit-Withdraw#:~:text=Coins%20that%20have%20not%20been%20listed%20yet%20will,to%20retrieve%20it%20via%20self-service%20of%20token%20recovery.

The wording of the link seems interesting, but it only says "You're not authorized to access this page" for me. Can you please elaborate?

Yes, basically you have to already be signed into your for the link to work as this is contained in the url- signin but hold on.  After poking around and to save you a little time, here is the direct link, appears it is accessible without login but you might have to login to submit a case:  https://www.kucoin.com/support/900006117646-What-Should-I-Do-If-Deposit-Wrong-Crypto-
Let me know if this winds up working for you.

Hey maymar2323, did this ever work for you?  If not, we are curious if you were able to get get your funds back in either scenario as this may prove to be a valuable reference for someone else who may experience the same down the line.

You should open a "Self-service of Token Recovery" ticket as stated in this article: kucoin.com/support/8353401857945-How-to-Apply-for-Token-Recovery-from-Specific-Types-of-Wrong-Deposit-Withdraw
Your case falls under the category "The network of the deposited coin is not supported by KuCoin", or not, depending on what you mean by "converted a test amount of the token".

Anyways, this thread should be moved to 'Service Discussion->Exchanges'.

I think you are seeking help at the wrong place. No matter the amount you are offering as rewards, I am afraid no one here can help even they want to.
Go back to kucoin support and prevail on them to help you out, that's if they can help, otherwise, you will have to wait for the token to be listed on kucoin

In this case, if support helps you, you can still get your property back. Unfortunately, on the forum I hardly see any centralized exchange operating here. In addition to contacting online support and submitting a complaint via email, you can tweet your case on Twitter and tag kucoin supporters, even tweet complaints many times, I think they will notice and solve for you.

LoyceV on the road. Or couch.
Search for cross chain deposits, it has happened before. Some exchanges are willing to help, some do it in batches once in a while, and some don't do it at all.

An exchange isn't the same as someone with a private key, after many hacks any decent exchange now doesn't have as single employee with such access, meaning it's expensive and risky for them to recover.

Unfortunately, I don't think you will get the help you need on the forum. Not only that but you might become a good target for a scammer who will try to retrieve and steal some of your personal information, phish you, or try to scam you in some other way.

I only see two legit ways you can go about this:
1. Keep insisting to speak with someone responsible for coin recovery.
2. Wait for the asset to be listed on KuCoin. And when/if it is, contact the support department again and ask them to recover your coins.

Unless the total value of the lost coins is a significant one, most exchanges don't want to bother with things like this. Since you are offering a bounty of $1000, I can only assume that you have lost a few grands at least. That might still not be an amount the exchange would be bothered to recover. It might sound harsh, but unfortunately that's how they look at things.

When you spoke with the support and asked them to recover your coins, did you tell them/did they ask the value of the deposit?
Did you have to submit a transaction ID?

Only the exchange team have access to that address's private key, anyone telling you that they will help is deceiving you, do not send money to anyone because it's impossible to get your asset back, only the exchange team can help you.

I guess you are right, I somehow need to persuade the KuCoin team to take on my case. I am willing to pay all of their efforts, I already offered them the 1000 USD as well.
But all I receive are standard replies, regardless of what I write to them.

Do not advertise that scam here, it's a scam company known for taking money upfront for your case, and then you're not going to hear a word from them anymore, fake reviews, fake statements, a shell company with a shady license and ten phone operators, nothing else.

I actually have not any deal with them before. A friend recommended it to me when I lost some funds to scammers and after I emailed them, they replied that the funds I lost is not up to the amount they will like to handle the case. So I just let go of the issue and move on. Have you ever had a deal with them? Throw more lights please so people should not fall victim.

The chances that you will find someone who has connections within that exchange on this forum are little or none, although it costs you nothing to try. Their policy in such cases is very clear, but your problem is specific considering that they do not support that token - which further complicates the whole situation.

From everything I have had the opportunity to read over the years, most CEX avoid such procedures because they represent a security risk, and this is also something that cannot be done by any employee, but specially trained persons. Maybe your best chance is to listen to the advice and take a detour in the sense of trying to convince the owner to try adding that token to the exchange.

Edit :

I didn't know there was an official BTT account of that exchange, so there is someone you can complain to even on the forum.

I'm sorry that this happened but this forum is clearly not the place where someone can help you. If support can't help, maybe you can negotiate with the token developer. In any case, be careful there is even a warning about such situations

For what you said you accidentally send it to your Kucoin address then most provably no people from here can help you about your issue, Maybe try to reach out the Kucoin support directly then try if there's a chance that you can recover your money. This incident is consider as loss but if you give a try to contact them from time to time and tell them if it possible to be claim then state that you are willing to pay a convenience fee for recovery maybe they will take action to your issue.

That's a pain in the ass if the support themselves are the ones turning you away, thus no one can help you in here even if someone knows their technical department.

Actually, they can really retrieve those tokens that you've mistakenly sent to that address but I don't know if they have certain rules and regulations about mistakenly sent tokens and they can no longer be retrieved once you're at fault.

What I can say is that continue negotiating on them if this is a big amount and continue talking to them to get back that money of yours.

Of course it is my fault.

I converted a test amount of the token to the native coin and successfully sent it to my receiving address on KuCoin.
Then the next day I did the same with the main amount again, only I forgot to convert the token to the coin first and then send it. Instead, I mistakenly sent the token directly.
Since both addresses are identical and the address was suggested to me directly by my sending wallet, I unfortunately only noticed the error afterwards.

The support is just brushing me off. I think they just have the policy of not retreiving tokens manually. Binance instead is offering this service for a fee.
This is the problem, the technical solution exists, I just cannot get to a technician directly because support is shielding them off.

This is why I call for your help desperately, I just would need the right contacts to get the retreiving process going. So if anyone of you could connect me to the right persons inside KuCoin and they retreive the token, I would pay you the bounty.

I think Kucoin support can help you with that alone. Even you offer 1k here, someone might just pretend to help you with the process and scam you.

If the token credited on the exchange isnt supported by them, the chance is slight, especially it will take time for them to get that but I think its not impossible. But if the expenses for recovering that ia huge Im sure could negotiate and bargain with them. But honestly a mistake like that is a sin on crypto. You should always be careful on dealing with sending funds.

They always have a warning to not send tokens not supported by their exchange and might got loss.

Why here?  There's no KuCoin support team here that will help you out, if there is, that might a scammer.
Be careful now when anyone asks to help you, they might ask for your KuCoin information to steal left there.

Contact support and state your issue, they will surely help you out with this problem.
They had an article relevant to your problem, What Should I Do If Deposit Wrong Crypto?
It might help you to figure out the process on this request and watch this Youtube video from that article.

Good luck and be patient, you're very lucky if there's a quick response from them.

No one here can able to help you with sending the wrong coin/token to your exchange account.
The exchange support is the only one that could help you with your token but according to the Kucoin article here https://www.kucoin.com/news/en-deposit-to-wrong-address
It is gone forever and they can't do anything.

Since you already contacted them and they said that they will recover your token once the token is already listed on their platform. Why not contact the developer of that token and try to request to add this token to Kucoin?

What exactly is the token are you talking about?

I don't think anyone can help you here except Kucoin support. Here is no external service which can change anything (legally) in the Kucoin backend.
You probably need to be more persistent, or maybe you didn't talk to the right person there, some of the exchanges will transfer your wrongly moved token/coin for a certain fee, ask them.
