First of all i think you are overthinking about it but well maybe is also a bad explanation for me side or diferent points of views.
I'm also thinking the same. I'd like to support anybody trying something new, but I know I'll just be randomly picking these.
Too many gray areas as well - like Trofo said, what if a team plays 2 games in that week/in that round? It's a huge advantage for a guy that notices that.

That can not happen at all, because im gonna put a time for the "gameweek". For example i upload the spreadsheet in the wednesday and the "gameweeks is gonna be for the matches between friday and monday". SO is impossible to see a team playing two times in that gameweek.
I think about cutting the pots, but also that cuts some of the most unpredictable teams and reason of fun of the contest, i also think about only choosing teams by a month but doing that i cut the possibilitie of give some freebets for the week winner and most important is less talk in the discussion thread.
