ETH mining on the GTX 1070 ti is a waste - they do a LOT better on equihash algorithm coins among other choices.

The reason the TDP isn't having much effect is that the ethhash algorithm is VERY memory-limited, so dropping the core clock on MOST cards doesn't affect the hashrate for a long time as the memory can't FEED the core enough data to keep up with it.
Even the R9 290/390 with their 512 bit memory bus can run the core at noticeably "lower" settings than on most coins and still hit max hashrate on ethhash.

Thanks for the explanation, I was just curious what kind of hash/s my rig would get, i don't have any plans mining ETH for now

Currently 32.5 mh ETH and 160mh Pasc, dual mining. Whole rig of 5x1070ti is 710w

Ive currently got my 1070tis set to 700mem 200core and 70tdp

What's your hashrate ?

Hi everyone,

So my new rig is almost one month old and I've been mainly mining Equihash, Lyra2Ver2, NIST5 and Xevan

I was able to come up with the best OC settings for each algo after spending some time fine tuning

Today I decided I'd give Ethash a try using Claymore, my rig consists of 6x 1070's and one 1070 TI all Zotac mini, I was surprised to notice that power limit doesn't have any effect on the hashrate

I started my tests at stock settings, then OC'd memory to +750 on the TI and +650 on the 1070's then started lowering power limit from 100% all the way down to 65% by 5% increments and the hashrate wasn't affected at all by all the decreases while my wall power meter was keeping on going down

Is this a normal behavior when mining ETH while all the other algos I tested were being affected by power limit ?

Thanks
