Alternatively, you can create your electrum wallet and move the BTC from your BRD wallet to Electrum wallet.......
That's no longer possible.
BRD wallet has been bought by coinbase and they have stopped their service. Now all the users have to import their seed phrase into other wallets.
Even if you have to import the seed, I still recommend to move the funds to a new Electrum wallet (after importing). Especially if OP is using Electrum on Tails, it's better not to use a seed that has been exposed to a different wallet on a different device.

To OP:
As already suggested above, you can follow the guide provided by fillippone and specify the derivation path manually.
You can also click on "Detect existing account" when importing your seed phrase. In this way, electrum will automatically find the correct derivation path.

I strongly advice against importing funds into Coinbase.

Coinbase the most anti-Bitcoin organisation. Make #DeleteCoinbase great again

Coinbase is bad.

Based on what I searched you can able to import BRD seed backup to Electrum with a different derivation path and you must enable BIP39 when importing BRD seed into Electrum.

The derivation path must be m/0′
But if your BRD wallet is segwit you can follow this guide below.

The link is already posted above.

There is a complite guide of how to import your seed from BRD to Electrum here on forum. I think fillippone did great job with it.

Alternatively, you can create your electrum wallet and move the BTC from your BRD wallet to Electrum wallet unless you have any problem or anything you don't think want to lose (address, etc). I think that would also be easier but you can follow the above suggestion too.

You can import your BRD wallet into electrum you just have to do some things with more advanced options (just enable it's a different mnemonic type and insert the derivation path).

I think you're best looking for a YouTube tutorial of someone doing this and then following that to attempt to do it yourself.

Hello forum,

I started sometimes ago with the BRD wallet on Android (yes wrote down the 12 word seed:)
and now I intend to switch to Electrum (on Tails).

Now I heard that those 12 word seeds are not necessarily "compatible" with other wallets?

Is this really the case?

Thank's

Joe
