I don't get it, it's just a bunch of nodes. What do those nodes represent though? They are like a cell growing but I don't see where is the bitcoin development. I tried to find the meaning in the comments but they are all speculating as to what does it really represent.

In the bottom left corner of the video there is some very tiny text which says 'Bitcoin github activity'. The labels could have been more clearer and a description could have been added but it is still cool to see how far Bitcoin has come in 12 years.

That node creates a variety of transaction data and it's very powerful, it can't be controlled, deleted, it's great for recording financial data. That node is a financial bot that was created to help an accurate, effective accounting system, not just cryptocurrency, it must also be used for data that must have records that are not easily lost, Blockchain is the solution

its a visualisation of every developers edit of the code. where code files are represented by each leg(circle).. and each movement/spin  is an edit to the file
its just a visual way of showing how the code has expanded and changed in a pretty display format

Best explanation I've seen thus far.

Excellent visualization of BTCitcoin's development these past 12 or so years.

The animation looks pretty nice but I don't really understand the reason of this video. It is just showing increase in adoption among miners and the growth of the network. Other than that, the video doesn't mean anything. Also people will not be able to understand what you want to show unless you speak clearly about bitcoin and its growth. Your animation skill is good, now it's time to hone your content skill. Otherwise you won't be able to convey the message you want!

I liked the overall design of the animation (although it does remind of the coronavirus visually  Cheesy), but I couldn't understand what's shown there without going to the comment section and reading this thread. In any case, it's a little too abstract to rely on GitHub activity IMO, so the informative part seems pretty weak, but it looks nice. An intro explaining the stuff that franky1 and amishmanish wrote would be good as a part of the video on the original post to help people prepare for what they'll see.

That is a visualization of the Github activity using the tool of gource.io.

I was also hoping for some kind of introductory video to what the development has gone through in the last 10 years. It'll be impossible to document it in 1 minute though.
Here's the more detailed video though showing the developer contributions to the repository. I'll never understand though that why do people use Dorian Nakamoto's picture everytime they have to show Satoshi. It'd be much better to show him with the "Anonymous" logo. The visualization doesn't really mean anything except the awe value i guess.

A decent short video (12 mins) about the history of Bitcoin is this one here.
I found it in some of the comments and I didn't believe that it was a representation of the Github activity that involved bitcoin. I do agree with you though about having no introduction, it's like they're trying to target the minute mark and the mysterious vibe that bitcoin is being shrouded in.
