15 Ghs wow, so you and your partner have almost 500 cards, right? You want to do solo mining, here is what you need to do. First of all, you need to find GPU based coins, you can use Whattomine, Coinwarz etc, or coins announcements thread in this forum. After that, read carefully a coins technical info. You will find a few info such as Block Time, Block Reward, Network Hashrate, Coins Price, etc. That all a variable that you need to calculate.

Network Hashrate, You need to know how much global Hashrate for this coin, let's assume that this coin algorithm is Ethash with global Hashrate 50 Ghs, so you have a good chance on this coin since u have 23% from global Hasrate (15 / (50+15) * 100). But don't forget to check a Block Time ( time between block ), and make sure to check block explorer, it will show you how accurate of a Block Time. And also check coin price, so you can calculate every block that you solve.

You can solo mining to QT-Wallet or Build your own mining pool

Compare your calculated result with what you get if you do pooled mining.

I have a farm of AMD GPUs, 15gh/s, currently mining on nanopool.

My partner wants to stay on nanopool, I want to solo mine for better rewards. I'm thinking I get a better cut just running my farm on ethpool, because looking at other miner's block rewards, the earnings are way better than my current earnings with nanopool.

Can someone with more knowledge share some input on this argument?
