We will also explore that option. We're not married to any single chip vendor, instead we just want to bring the nicest turn-key miners to market.

Realistically we would be able to get these built and be ready to ship at the beginning of October. Pricing for the complete system would be somewhere between $500-$1000, depending on how many units are committed for the first run.

There will be great general interest around the product when it is available for purchase.
The comparison will be 375 bucks for a 2 chip BFL that is running 8 Gh/s. If you can do a 4 chip solution running 16 Gh/s for 500 bucks you will sell more than you can make. At 1000 bucks you wont sell any. (BFL will catch up with orders one day...)

I would love to see it. If you can get one working atm you could sell all day for 500 and quite a few at 1000. At 500 depending on timeline could be great. I wont blame you for BFL's faults. Personally would love thier chip to take off in devices.

Inform me of your milestones, release periodic updates, talk about anticipated risks, tell me about the issues when those risks materialize, succinctly articulate any schedule slips along with a brief explanation, and ultimately deliver the product. I don't need any fancy pictures, or unrealistic stakes on the ground, BFL-style drama, just some good old fashioned honest business talk and product. Reiterating I am interested in acquiring multiple 16 GHs units at your 1K price. I saw 900 somewhere on the thread. That's obviously good too. Make it happen. Best of luck. I will be waiting.

I'd be interested in the units if they were like 6-700 bucks for the advertised 16 gh/s. What is the projected chip size in nm? Will there be a power supply or opt out option available? Will this ship from within the USA?

And you still have to add the cost of the chips. And thats an ideal pricing based on volume, which so far he doesn't have enough chips in his group buy to even get to 100 boards. Plus the chips could easily get caught up in customs in Slovenia, and there will be costs to get them out.
This is a very different offering as it will be a complete product. I'm not sure that its economically viable as BFL's chips are still expensive, and require a fairly complex PCB. The thing is that the project is firmly grounded in reality, with realistic lead times for the boards and components. And that's not what this community likes to spend money on - you guys prefer fancy renderings, vapor chips, and unrealistic delivery schedules.

Global foundries meeting their delivery schedule isn't the biggest risk by a long shot. Getting a functional PCB and integrating a finished product isn't a trivial endeavor by any means. We have some serious competitive advantages with our design where the miner software has direct SPI access to the ASICs, so I expect we will squeeze out even more performance than the reference design. Plus we will have adjustable clocks and voltages in our design. Honestly even if BFL delivered the chips tomorrow we would still be looking at October delivery.

We're in the USA, you would be able to take $200 off for supplying your own chips (if we make that an option). It's logistically a pain though.
Chip credits would be accepted (up to the number of chips required to fill your order).
At QTY 100 its looking like it would cost $900
At QTY 1000 we can get down to $650
