The low price of bitcoin, high difficulty and high average electricity cost really is the killer for equipment like this now. Add on to that the cost of shipping and it really isn't worth it for 99.9% of people. It's a real shame because this equipment cost a small fortune new and has still got loads of life left in it but unfortunately in reality that's where we are now.

I feel for you but run the math and you will understand the situation:

18 TerraMiners: 5.9 BTC per month total at current difficulty (assuming no diff increases)

Now comes the killer: $2776 per month for electricity using lowest non-bulk San Antonio, TX electric rate (assumes 0 cooling as well)

Good luck with that...

Unless you have free electricity how are these miners making you any money?

Hey guys,
I am in no rush to sell the Terraminers, and truthfully i did not expect the offers to be so low.
I decided to keep them.
I am editing the subject of this post to reflect this decision.
Thank you all very much for your interest.

Thank you all for your interest and your feedback.
Ill have to make some calls and ill be back tomorrow with the lowest price ill be willing to take for the units.
If not met, ill just keep them, and keep an eye on ideas of repurposing them or something.
best,

If you can come down to a reasonable price, I will buy and pickup everything including the racks.

I told him the same thing.  Maybe we can split them lol

As you can tell from the people above, 4.5BTC isn't a good price.  It costs less than 2BTC for a new 1.2TH Antminer S5 that draws only 600W.

eBay prices, which are always higher than forum prices, are currently $250-400 per Terraminer.

Unfortunately on this forum is most members would consider the cost to ship this miner == value of the miner.  Even 1BTC is too much for this box, more like 0.5BTC.

I'd come pick up the whole lot, but the price has gotta come down a ton.  If they all work perfectly I'd do $100 each.  PSUs have some value, but I really don't know what else you would do with the coolers.  They're kind of a strange configuration/layout.

So assuming FREE ELECTRICITY and FREE SHIPPING and CONSTANT DIFFICULTY and CONSTANT PRICE it would get ROI in 249 days.

NICE!

He posted a price, 4.5 BTC and offered me no discount if I bought all of them so I am assuming the price is the same for bulk and singles.

4.5 BTC per miner is crazy high unless you mean per rack.

Has: Brand new account
Has: Lot of high power high value miners
Lacks: Proof

Could you provide pictures? Do you accept escrow? Will the sale be done through you or through the datacenter (regarding any shipping charges)?

I agree with you except the high value.

1.7Th@2100W is not or barely profitable so these no longer have high value.

At one point they were more valuable; and regardless of how you put it, 18 of them still have value above average, even though they are quite inefficient.

I want 4.5 BTC per terraminer.
All 18 are working perfectly, I have the original boxes from cointerra to ship them.
I bought them used directly from Cointerra, and as a matter of fact I only powered them on to test them and check they ran well for a few days.
Here is a photo of them.

Thank you all very much for your interest in the 18 terraminers.
I have perfectly clear that the profitability of the equipment lies on the price of bitcoin and that we have had some tough days recently.
I ve heard that someone sold their terraminers for $90 a piece, I see that it is a very good deal, Ill keep an eye to see if i can score some of those.
but as i see it, just the PSUs and the liquid cooling are worth much more than that.
If i cant sell them as they are, maybe Ill sell the parts, but anyway ill listen to any serious offer.

Again, thanks for your interest,

I will also listen to any other ideas you might have, thats what the forum is for, right?
Best,
F
