This is pretty cool.  This is one that I may actually use myself.   I think we need to make it a point however to get some companies to accept BTC that are used mainly by women.   Like Nordstrom's for instance.   If we can get companies that are used mainly by women, we will head towards a whole another level of adoption.

Popcorn Factory, Fruit Bouquets, Cheryl's, Stock Yards, 1-800 Baskets, and #JustBEcause. I've never heard of the last one, but the other ones are used throughout America. I'm pretty sure the owner's name starts with James, or Jim.

Hmm... some of the popular brands there. In case if the Bitcoin adoption by 1-800 flowers proves to be a successful one, then we can expect the other companies also to follow suit.  Grin

Pretty big company. I wonder if it's 'sister' companies will take Bitcoin, as well. Would be interesting to buy popcorn, and fruit bouquets.

Sister companies? Which ones? BTW... who is the owner of 1-800 Flowers?

This news was mostly ignored by the mainstream media. None of the media outlets other than CoinTelegraph covered it.

Looks like CoinTelegraph & CoinDesk are at loggerhead. 2 are ignoring each other.

EDIT:

in fact, I ordered a Filet Mignon at a store once, and it was Stock Yard brand.

That would be really nice for people in the US, they can now buy loads of stuff with BTC Smiley
On a side note, I'd like to see more services being offered in countries in the EU, paid with BTC.

Despite their name and type of business, 1800 Flowers is a very large company in terms of financials. Their total revenue for 2013 was measured at $714 million, and it is growing rapidly. Check the other details:
