Why are you blaming the older generations when this should have in fact been taught in school? You never get to learn the basic stuff about economics and savings. You never get to learn about being independent. You are taught anything but the most important aspects of life. That one, they leave it up to you to find out, learn and fix by yourself along the years.

I personally say it is the education to blame. What you are and are not being taught in school. Most students graduate believing in Fiat, Banks and all the BS our government wants us to believe in.

I agree, there's no put of comparison, the Great Depression what very different from what we are seeing right now. It all started with the fall of stocks and then bank runs.

In any case, there are lessons to learn that time, that can be applicable to the current situation that we are in. Recession, the war, sinking economy. Nevertheless, as our grand fathers survived during that time, and so we are in 2022 up to the next 10 years.

I already have plans to teach my children when they grow up because for now they are both very young and still in elementary school stage so it is still not feasible to teach them about many things that they may not need.
