Don't gamble, it usually only leads to regret unless you have incredible self control. It's too late to start mining. And welcome to the forum!

I still think you can still make money with Erupters, but it going to keep becoming increasingly difficult. But if you're in it for fun/hobby its minting fractions of pennies. Still cool concept though...

Semi-newbie in the bitcoin world, I wanted to get some opinions on a few things:

1. Purchasing Bitcoins - This seems to be the most popular question everywhere, but I've found that if you want the coins asap, finding people on reddit, localbitcoins.com, as well as others (here I'm guessing?). If you can wait, Coinbase seems to have the best prices and customer service. Are there any other sites/exchanges I should look into?

2. Bitcoin Mining - Simple question: Is it worth investing in at this point? I see ads for the 25k+ machines with 50 gh/s speed and it seems like in a few months that the difficulty will be so high that the asic erupters wouldn't return anything close to respectable. Is this the majority feeling or am I seeing this with my "pessimist shades?"

3. This ties in with ^ but does anyone have any experiences they could share with mining contracts from places like cloudhashing or bitcoinfrenzy? Or are they just trying to "take" your money and lead you on(like BFL's)?

4. Gambling - Recommendations to a bitcoin casino that is actually legitimately fair?

5. Just for fun, what's the most amount of bitcoins you've ever owned at one time?

Glad to finally be a part of the BTC-Talk community!
