What this can make logically makes sense, or is there something else.

A guy could drive himself crazy looking for logic, reason, and deeper meaning every time a shit-post gets a merit or three.  There really isn't anything in this thread that convinces me that Jimmy Crypto, MicroGuy, or PoolMinor deserve a negative rating, and there're bigger fish.

It's definitely worth keeping an eye on these accounts in case a pattern develops or something worthy of labeling "concrete evidence" turns up.  Until then, I wouldn't waste a ton of time on these situations.

This is a very suspicious set of circumstances.  Just a couple days ago Jimmy Crypto had only three merit, and created this thread in Meta, asking about avatars.  Now, just a few days later he's half way to his goal, with 50 merit from another Bitcoin FS shill?

PoolMinor Give 3 Merits to: Jimmy Crypto, and 2 merit to: MicroGuy, with adjacent posts.

With due respect sir, there are good posters around the forum especially those who aren't interested in the politics.

I agree, but I've been fairly busy recently, and I haven't been able to read as many posts as I would have liked. If I post in a thread, and don't get a reaction, then I tend not to revisit that thread. I'm not really interested in speculation about the identity of Satoshi, or when Bitcoin will hit £250,000. There are quite a lot of what I would consider to be schoolboy threads as well, and I skip over those. The beginners board contains some useful topics, but often they are repeats of questions that have been asked many times before, and I feel reluctant to merit a reply when I have merited similar replies many times already.

I appreciate that my problem may well be self-generated, but even so, it would be great to see some well reasoned topics, and some discussions about the problems in local economies. For example, I used to read the posts about Venezuela, but I gave up when they seemed to ignore the Bolivarian revolution, and to support the take over by the Koch brothers to seize the oil in Venezuela. What would be interesting would be some posts about the loss of Venezuelan tantalum ( blue gold ) to the US, and how much that is influencing their policy.

With due respect sir, there are good posters around the forum especially those who aren't interested in the politics. Candidly, you are a distinguished member of this forum and have learnt lessons from most of your threads here on this forum. We may not be perfect like ou guys, but we are striving unto perfection, personally; am improving on my self daily and the evidence is crystal clear.

I've made a few posts on Fit to Talk, and I'd like to revive the concept of translating posts for non-English speakers so that they can earn merits on the English boards. I think this will help to build an integrated international community here as well. Any suggestions as to how to improve on this will be accepted with gratitude.

Not just 50 Merits but 53 for just one liner shit-replies, in case you aren't aware of this thread, you can view this for the full communication. This case was a case of Merit Abuse, but many of the high rank members withdrew from tagging the sender but tagged the receiver, as at yesterday before i laid down. Sometimes the way we handle some situation make the genuine users trying their very best to earn merit with quality contributions look stupid. How on earth, this act isn't a clear abuse of the merit system, the sender of the merit haven't encountered the receiver (no record found in post history) for we to classified his act as an emotional one (like i see some users via reply above trying to justify) view the merited post, below are several other accounts with zero merit and just few post that means most of those accounts are either alts just cheating the Airdrop or new users that joined forum for the airdrop so none of those posts deserve merits.

This is a clear abuse so as merit abuses don't deserve red tagging, the clear cases like this one should have been reversed also this is another situation that calls for the decaying of all airdropped smerits, must merit abuses are linked to these airdropped smerits (just view sender's merit record).

I am alive but in hibernation.
Those who have all airdropped sMerits (rarely earned ), are very prone to fumble in sending merits.
Reason can be anything like ranking up their own alt  or not able to understand the use case of Merits.

So you realize when you click merit it opens up a new tab and 0 is already in the box, if you are quick and not paying attention where you click, you can put the 1 before the 0 and it makes 10.
This is understandable  but when it happens on a proof of authentication post, then there is something more than just a mistake. It's abuse, given that the account being merited is newly registered and made only 2 posts.

All three of these merited posts are deleted as spam.  Cheesy
It should be deleted if the merited post is not merit worthy at all. Actually, I don't know if the deleted post are still accessible or can be accessed by admin. This is what I know, even if I deleted my post but the data is not deleted from the forum itself so I think the deleted post can be seen by the staffs but the forum users won't be able to see it.

If I have a thousand sMerit, surely, I will fly it to those who are entitled to receive it, obviously.

There is nothing wrong with the actions of anyone who gives sMerit. But I feel this is one of the most ridiculous things, for people who like it. This is annoying, for today's achievements, many people abuse it.

I think this Merit is based on, Emotional someone in spilling anger.

I am not claiming that this is wrong or true that happened.
But there are exceptions.
As it is now also happening to:
1. Jimmy Crypto

I thought and saw many members in this Forum who gave decent posts to get Merit, but precisely what happened was only seen begging, for one s Merit for those who deserved it, it was ironic, and boring.

I have tagged the merit sender and will possibly remove the tag once they respond here.
Hasn't theymos mentioned leaving a negative trust for merit related cases like this are not a good use of the trust system? I mean there are no proofs of accounts being connected or anything.. I'd probably hear their side of the story before leaving a negative trust.
you have quoted my response where I specifically say I will likely remove the tag once they respond.

Just looking for a little responsibility from the user and normally if you message them, they normally ignore the PM.

Theymos also doesn't want users tagged for spamming but that hasn't stopped some people has it.

*EDIT* tagged removed, don't wanna give 20 more users a reason to spam a worthless thread.

It's very likely the account is hacked like TP said earlier so tagging it is really doing the forum good but whatever. Getting to be where having your own opinion is worthless around here unless the consensus agrees.

It's either merit abuse (selling, giving to alts trading merits and other ways to abuse the merit system) or the merit sender did it intentionally. I think the merit sender didn't know the changes made by theymos about the rank changes also I think the merit sender is not active for 10 months because this person's last post is from june 12, 2018 until april 4, 2019 which the merit sender posted again. Let's wait for this forum user to respond in this thread to know his/her reason why giving 10 merits to a useless post that is posted the newbie.

The sender however is possibly selling merits, possibly an alt of the receiver, or just a total idiot for meriting a proof of authentification post.
If the sending account is hacked or sold, then there's a very high probability that the new owner is selling the sMerits on it or sending them to an alt account.  Either way, both accounts are definitely connected IMO.  Nobody gives merit to a bounty post just to be generous.
...Or possibly misquoted and merited a wrong post. I guess we shouldn't rule out that angle too. These things happen, especially when people are tipsy or drunk and decide to post.

Without proof that they're alts it's a nothingburger. User even has "crazy" in his name and does crazy things... hardly a red-tag offense.
Hence why I added the option just possibly an idiot for what they merited.

I'd still like to see a response before I remove the tag, could be something or could be nothing at all. A simple response could fix it all

crazyearner seems to be likely hacked/sold (1year gap). Also those posts aren't merit worthy. Very likely case of merit abuse or merit trading.
Yep, all of what you wrote is spot-on.  This is the second thread I've posted in today in which there's been obvious merit abuse (or at least misuse).  I don't usually even bother replying, but it looks like crazyearner and the member from the other thread don't even care that it's obvious what they're doing.  Hopefully this isn't going to become more of a problem than it already is.

I have not tagged the receiver as they may or may not be connected, you need to show proof for that.
