I would go with a multicoin pool, like multipool.us or megamultipool.com (No Bitcoin but as twice the power 19-22TH)

For some reason this only works for me when BTC is being mined on port 8888.  Anything else and I get this:

Quote

 [2014-02-14 11:37:44] Started cgminer 3.7.2

 [2014-02-14 11:37:45] Testing pool stratum+tcp://us-west.multipool.us:8888
 [2014-02-14 11:37:45] pool 0 JSON stratum auth failed: [
   -2,

]
 [2014-02-14 11:37:45] pool 1 JSON stratum auth failed: [
   -2,
   "Worker name not found.",
   null
]

Why would it see my worker and password for BTC, but not anything else?

What about auto trade feature like the pool with the cow? It would be very neat
Yep, I'd like to pay a tiny additional fee for this feature.

It's coming, I don't have an ETA yet though.

Great returns these past 2 days and we're close to having critical mass to move from P2pool to mining BTC directly!
Still I think you'd need at least 30-50 TH/s to mine solo comfortably, otherwise the variance will bite.

Great news about hooking in to p2pool.  I've been watching this pool and have done a little mining.  I love the concept, but the BTC variability has been holding me back.

One question, how are existing BTC share submittals going to be handled?  Will they still be counted since a BTC block has not yet been found?

I'm going to be paying out all the shares in the DB until we reach 30BTC of payments.  That should take about two weeks at the current hashrate.  After that I will likely change to a 24 hour PPLNS on the BTC port as that's how p2pool pays out.
Doesn't p2pool keep 3 days worth of shares currently?

The wiki says:
Quote from: P2Pool Wiki
Each share contains a generation transaction that pays to the previous n shares, where n is the number of shares whose total work is equal to 3 times the average work required to solve a block, or 8640 (= 24 hours of shares), whichever is smaller. Payouts are weighted based on the amount of work each share took to solve, which is proportional to the p2pool difficulty at that time.

It's a bit ambiguous, but I believe it means the PPLNS is 24 hours, or 3x the average work, whichever is smaller.
Yep, I think the 8640 number is the same, it's because share spacing was raised from 10s to 30s.

We have (very basic) DB connectivity from p2pool!

mysql> select username,sum(difficulty) from shares group by username;
+----------------+-----------------+
| username       | sum(difficulty) |
+----------------+-----------------+
| flound1129.bfl |            1811 |
+----------------+-----------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

Following flounder's 'no major changes before sleeping' rule, p2pool on BTC will be enabled tomorrow.  Tonight is the last night to claim the block bounty!

If this works out well, I may enable it for LTC as well.

That's great news Flound

A few days ago I announced a promotion but forgot to post it in this thread.  The finder of our first BTC block will receive the pool fees (0.3125 BTC) plus the transaction fees in the block, up to a total of 1 BTC.

This pool only as about 2-3Th/s compered to other Bitcoin sites, but the pool also mine other sha256 coins which hopefully help out.
It wouldn't be so bad if we found a block ever 3-4 days, but it just hasn't happened yet   Embarrassed

The good thing is, is that you got more of a share of the block when we do find it, 'cos there is only about a hundred or so people mining sha-256!

Flound,

Thanks for the BTC payout lowering. I have moved my SHA256 to your pool - we will see how it goes Smiley

Can we just merge this thread into the others?  Two places worth of data must be a pain for you to maintain.

There are more than two Smiley

The other thread is in Alt Crypto, which many BTC enthusiasts don't bother looking at.

This is just an announcement thread, not an official support thread.
