Pretty fluffy piece ... the way the masses like their news these days by all accounts (could have thrown in reference to Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Charlie Sheen, etc something for a broader appeal).

What i did get a kick out of was the clip that come up on the scroll bar of related clips next to it ...  Cheesy seriously funny (i'm a matrix fan.)

Mr. Andresen!

The mass, or  too much information to digest?

This feature on Silk Road and bitcoin on Australian TV actually made quite a positive appearance!
It is amusing and entertaining to watch.

Lines like:

Quote
"To access the site you use a router that makes you impossible to track."

Quote
"To pay for drugs, you use BITCOIN! An online currency, that can be bought, transferred and converted back into real-live currency completely anonymously"

Quote
"Sounds almost too crazy to believe."

make it almost sound like advertising.

Monica Barratt from the National Drug Research Institute adds :
Quote
"It reduces the potential for straight violence and because there is a rating system there it increases the recourse to justice if a seller sold you something that wasnt as described."

But it also takes us a step forward in how the media represents the Silk Road, by shining some light on the positive implications this service may have for society, rather then giving an incomplete picture.
