Okay, listen up trolls. farmvillefeed gets on average 100k+ page views per day. They are currently running ads for bitinstant AND betsofbitco.in.  That means a huge number of people seeing the word bitcoin every day. This is only good new to be celebrated. I know of no other site with bitcoin ads that has this volume. Tons of new exposure for bitcoin. Thats all.
True, +1!

Ok, I guess I just didn't like that it was made to look like an independent news article instead of a press release.  Fault of WebWire, not yours.

I do think overall, it's a good thing that they are taking advantage of a Bitcoin-based advertising service though.

It was clear to me as well that it's not a real press hit but it is NEWS and I think it's big news.

Not sure what your hyping is about, maybe it’s because today is the Facebook IPO. Grin

Yeah I thought the timing turned out to be really good but it was this link http://farmvillefeed.com/bitcoin-advertising that made me think this partnership was Press Release worthy, it is an independent web publishers saying to the world "I can keep more revenue with bitcoin then any other service."  And that might be old news to the bitcoin community but practically no one in the web publishing world is aware of that.

WebWire is not a news source.  It is a news publishing site.  I.E, Andrew Bitcoiner writes the article, submits it to WebWire, and WebWire throws it up on their site.

This is just a press release in disguise.

There is no disguise about it and I only wrote part of it  Cool However the likelihood of 1) FarmVille interested sites or people learning about bitcoin from this is high, 2) the likelihood of a lot of blogs and news sources to mention this in light of the Facebook IPO is also a possibility.

I think those 2 factors made it worth a few bitcoins.

FarmVilleFeed does not show up on google trends. it has exactly 2 hits on reddit, both bitcoin related.

i think its still great to have bitcoin in the virtual worlds space because it is the perfect currency for p2p trade of virtual items.
but i think bitcoin clients are still too hard to handle for the average farmville user it might be "too soon"

4 million page views (note, these are not unique IPs) a month? A few hundreds of likes per each post? I’ve seen it, and I still think it is insignificant.

As if Farmville players would be able to operate anything Bitcoin atm anyway.

No, this is not huge. Not even really newsworthy.

Site is not affiliated with Farmville and it is ranked 66k on Alexa. For comparison, MtGox with its few tens of thousands of users is ranked 35k, and bitcointalk is 25k.

No idea about the 360k FB likes, maybe these are just bots?
What the hell? Mt. Gox has close to 100 000 users and it's the center point of the Bitcoin economy. Something qualifies as huge only if it passes the Alexa rank of Gox? I don't think so.

I don't know what you meant with not being affiliated with Farmville, wtf? It's a Farmville news site, one of the most popular ones at that. With over 4 million hits each month. The Facebook page is not made up either, there are hundreds of likes on average for each post and plenty of comments.

This has massive implications. This is the first site of this size that really adopts Bitcoin advertising. It will lead to the 4 million hits looking at the word Bitcoin each month (which is in their main menu and in the advertisements themselves). On top of that many of the ads are Bitcoin related. Not only that, more and more sites will be interested in Bitcoin ads when they see how cheap it is and how easy it is.

This is HUGE. That site is absolutely massive. FarmVille is a very popular Facebook game.

OMG. For example, their Facebook page has 360 000 likes. You have got to be kidding me.

This could be the biggest news of the year! Good job Andrew Bitcoiner!
