Ah - sorry about that.  The other payment methods is more of a 'coming soon.'  The Bitcoin payment method is directly available when you signup (using BitPay - great service).  Thanks for the info and we'll make sure to make it more clear! :-)

Private Internet Access is mentioned.  We are a very strong supporter of Bitcoin. :-)

Nice!.. but it's very easy to miss on your website.
There is one small icon out of 11 on the front page - and when you click 'other payment options' after going to 'join now' - Bitcoin is not in the list.
At that point a bitcoin-paying user might well leave the site without realizing it's accepted.

and with a VPS you have more control over the software
No, you don't.

If you don't have physical control of the machine you only think you have control over the software.

The hypervisor which manages your virtual private server is what actually has control. A unscrupulous VPS operator, or one has the police show up on their doorstep, can log everything that happens inside your VPS whether you delete the logs or not. It's exactly the same risk as a VPN.

To be honest, if your using a VPN service people are crazy, just use bitcoins to buy a VPS, then setup your own VPN so you know the logs are being deleted.
If you're worried about a VPN service provider being untrustworthy and/or coerced there's no reason not to be just as worried about a VPS service provider.

Then you need to get others to use your VPN so you have cover traffic, or all traffic from your VPSes IP can be tracked to a single user (you). Oh, right, you don't think your traffic is monitored except by the destination site. Carry on then.

Just a single mention of Bitcoin.
It looks like this author doesn't yet subscribe to Falkvinge's proposition on VPNs: 'Never Trust A VPN Provider That Doesn't Accept Bitcion' http://falkvinge.net/2011/09/27/never-trust-a-vpn-provider-that-doesnt-accept-bitcoin/

Also noteworthy is AirVPN, specifically for its high-level data encryption, compliance with data security best practices (which means even they don't know what you're doing), complete and total net neutrality, and the fact that you can pay with bitcoin, if you wish.
