Wow.  I think that's the most positive TV talk about bitcoin I've ever watched.

I'm putting it on YouTube.  It will be here once uploaded.

Best silkroad commercial I've ever seen, hoped for something a bit different.

Great segment, but I wish they would have put more emphasis than they did on the fact that it's pseudonymous and NOT untraceable. They made it seem as if there was no paper trail, and I don't think they were speaking literally. She was actually contacted a couple years ago with the following points from one of the devs:

In an email message to reason Senior Editor Katherine Mangu-Ward, a Bitcoin developer noted that “if Silk Road truly permits deposits on their site, that makes it even easier for law enforcement to locate the ‘hub’ of transactions.” He said people who buy drugs with Bitcoin do so at their peril: “Attempting major illicit transactions with Bitcoin, given existing statistical analysis techniques deployed in the field by law enforcement, is pretty damned dumb.

Impressed at the very positive slant they had on this topic. That woman sure was liberal and had no shame in expressing her views. Amen to that. A refreshing piece.

Katherine did such a fantastic job I emailed her personally to compliment her performance.

Stellar work - really raises the bar for communicating the importance of monetary freedom and privacy that bitcoin provides.

I don't see that anyone uploaded it to YouTube yet

Funny, I gave up searching for this on the web this very moment and wanted to ask if anyone knows where to find this.

Well, Fox Business seems to add episodes roughly 2 Weeks after airing them, so we will possibly have to wait a while.

Freedom 2.0 (airs tonight at 9pm ET on Fox Business)

Quote
The future looks bleak. Government grows bigger, debt grows, and politicians constantly pass new regulations.

But there is good news. Technology helps us avoid clumsy government. Developments like the Internet bring us what I call "Freedom 2.0."

Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales - who cites Hayek as an inspiration for creating Wikipedia - tells me about how the fewer rules he imposed on the site, the better it did. Economist Ed Stringham argues that the Internet proves we don't need much government regulation.

The Internet will also make it easier for us to keep an eye on what government does, although Chris Horner says that our government uses every trick it can to avoid scrutiny.

"Hating Breitbart" producers Maura Flynn and Evan Coyne Maloney say cell phone cameras create "Freedom 2.0" by empowering citizen journalists to expose groups like ACORN. And Instapundit.com blogger Glenn Reynolds discusses scandals exposed by what he calls "An Army of Davids" on the internet.

And what if there were also a website that helped you buy illegal things, without government being able to stop you? Actually, there is, and it uses a nearly-anonymous online currency called Bitcoin to shield users' identities. Katherine Mangu-Ward explains.

What will the future bring? Economist Jim Miller, the author of "Singularity Rising", says that genetics and smart robots could make us beautiful and wealthy - or lead to robots that destroy humanity.

Freedom 2.0 starts tonight at 9pm on the Fox Business Network.
