the point I was trying to make is that there are legitimate users in Nigeria, Romania, Indonesia, etc.  unfortunately they are blocked because there are too many fraudsters in their area that ruin it for everyone there.

I wholeheartedly agree with you ... and it makes for a great selling point for any payment system to have I would say.

It is sad that the minority scumbags in Nigeria, or wherever, can ruin it for the majority of good people in those regions ... but that's how our current payment systems are effectively discriminating, because they are deficient, and bloated with the AML/KYC regulations, such that it is easier for the current players to ignore and exclude whole continents from the Internet economy rather than attempt to fix it.

65 countries are now open for business, if you are a seller in USA or Europe.

There's your tagline.

Big props to Bitpay on this move, btw. You all are tearing it up!

Precisely. People in western countries aren't aware of just how difficult it is to get a credit card if you're in Latin America, Africa or parts of Asia. Now all those markets will open up for merchants with FBA... this really is a win win win.

yes.

bitcoin and FBA really are made for each other.

bitcoin offers a low-risk international payment.
FBA offers low-risk international shipping.

"With bitcoin, suddenly the whole world is opening to you," Gallippi said. "You can accept a payment from Nigeria."

Great selling point ... since it is the same tech. that can enable commerce in the most challenging black markets means it can enable commerce anywhere.

Many retailers who have their own web storefronts use Amazon's fulfillment service to tap the company's expertise in areas such as logistics and customs regulations, Gallippi said.

Once a bitcoin payment has been processed, the WooCommerce module sends Amazon the information it needs to ship a package using Amazon's API (application programming interface), such as the purchaser's address and the item's identification number.

BitPay is ahead of PayPal with the new module, Gallippi said. Merchants who take a PayPal payment with WooCommerce must then manually enter the information needed by Amazon to ship the product, he said.

BitPay, based in Atlanta, had some technical conversations with Amazon about how to implement the fulfillment API, but no commercial discussions, Gallippi said.
