Erik seems terrified to fade into history. I keep seeing him popping up everywhere. Wasn't his ill-gotten gains from his gambling empire enough? Seriously. If I wanted to see a hollow MBA debate grandpa I'd just go down to Times Square at lunchtime.

Yes I agree, Erik was great. Peter was a real disappointment, repeating the same points again and again, each time Erik countered with a logical explanation of why he was wrong or how the bitcoin system works, but Peter seem oblivious to this logic, it almost appears that Peter had an agenda

Listened to it a day or so ago. Great interview and discussion. Thanks for linking and sharing. EV did a great job answering, as was said, from a very friendly and not-too-technical level.

Side-note: hearing a lot about that new hampshire (was it) libertopia or freedom fest meeting. The host made it sound like it was infested with bitcoiners. Shit like this makes me re-consider my stance towards the USA. A year ago I would've said: I'll never go there again in my life. Now it looks like there's so many open- and free-minded people "over there" that it looks like the people could beat their gone-berserk gov't (by ignoring it mostly). We need more of this stuff in Europe.
Yeah New Hampshire is awesome and I too am strongly considering eventually moving there. The only big reasons I can think off why I wouldn't is 1) the cold because I hate it wit ha passion 2) their federal government and the IRS down right scare me 3) I think the cost of living there is pretty high

I could feel your nervousness, but you mastered every question bravourously. Weirdly, all the most important stuff was taken care of. There were some big holes after the initial interview, but the callers allowed you to fill in the gaps. There were no "dumb questions" either, they're doing a great job pre-filtering the callers, I guess.
I really liked how you told callers "that's a good question" a couple of times. And they were good questions.
Amazing... let's see if Peter comes around, too at some point.

He probably feels it's better for the network to solve the issue now rather than later.

If not SD, it would be someone else. At least assuming SD shortened our time below the limit, people see the problem while it is still relatively easy to fix. But the longer we wait, the harder it will be.

Had a couple back and forth emails with Tom a few months ago about bitcoins, the result of which was that he decided it was too confusing at the time. Glad to see they were able to at least get him considering it again.

Amazing how fast that 30-40min went. Erik did a really good job. And apparently that isn't even close to a long enough time to really explain bitcoin. I thought it would be plenty, but I could think of several key concepts that weren't mentioned. I hope it was enough to pique people's interest & read more about it.

I'm glad that Erik will be on but bummed that Peter won't be there as he hasn't yet "seen the light" and Erik has a great way of explaining Bitcoin and its utility.
I talked with Peter about 10 days ago for around 15 minutes about Bitcoin. It was a lively debate. We had the camera equipment all in place for an interview but he declined with the response, "I don't want you to make me look like a fool."
So we will see if he comes around sometime.
