I actually read this article before it was posted here. However, I would just like to point out that I really support what this person did and found it very interesting. If I had known earlier I would have donated.

I bet this experiment will go a lot smoother by next year. So many announcements about business adoption, I can only imagine what the landscape will look like in six months.

Smoother? It will be totally trivial next year. It will be like writing an article on using "electronic mail" as the only means of communication for a week.

I meant smoother in the sense of her self-restrictions on the experiment - not willing to use intermediary payment systems like BitPay, etc..

with the new Gyft card announced today all you need to do is carry around the mobile Gyft app and Bitcoin Spinner on your Android.

keep your appreciating BTC in Spinner and when you need depreciating USD's to buy ANYTHING, just make the transfer into a Gyft card and make your payment while on the go.

Kashmir was one week too early.

The conclusion of Kashmir Hill's re-experiment:

Conclusion #1: use Forbes as a blogging platform to put up your Bitcoin address: 10BTC in donations (the article premise wasn't about getting Bitcoin, it was spending them).
