I hope there's more competition, it isn't good to have one big monopoly where most of the transaction is taking place. It can get nasty.

It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye
Wasn't btcGloab the company behind the GLBSE before it disappeared? Or was that BitcoinGlobal?

but the scam to me seem to build interest in the pre-IPO (which is fully subscribed) then claim delays and run with the money.

The article makes me feel like I'm 10 years ahead of 99.999% of the world; however at the end of the day it's nothing more than a good sales pitch article as someone else mentioned.

I hope it works out though...

Oh yea and then there is this:

https://btcglobal.net/products/btc.uy-exchange

nothing like a pre-launch funded by your pre-ipo

maybe you could also mine some pre-bitcoin on your pre-blockchain.

More about Steven Morell:
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.

he also claims to "own" that site.

...from the BTCGlobal.net  home page...

Sorry Guys.  I find this whole article and the claims made within it to be HIGHLY suspect.

Too good to be true.

Who is Steven Morrell??

" overwhelming visionary confidence in his company, prudent knowledge of international banking laws, creative innovation, and ardent European accent convinced me hook line and sinker that BTC Global will be the Google of the Bitcoin economy, which is exactly what they’re going for"  ( a fucking journalist wrote that - I think not!)

What is is background.

"Steven Morrell knows a lot about revolution, he was right there at the Berlin wall when it collapsed. 'A friend of mine is the director at a huge German theater'" (OK Steven tell me where to send my money!!)

Where are his licenses?

Where are the contracts or at least public verification of his "partnerships"?

You guys who all drink the Koolaid make me embarrassed to be a part of bitcoin.

Anyone remember Pirateat40??  Guys would have sucked his dick to deposit 10,000 BTC with him before default.

Let's get a little corroboration of some of the facts before everyone starts quoting at "truth" something that was distributed in a press release.

"What BTC Global has done is set up a pre-IPO auction. They are selling 6% of their equity, which is something they can only do because they’re in Uruguay."

Who writes this gibberish?  What, exactly, is the pre-IPO equity of a company which is raising capital by selling its pre-IPO equity?  If you can't understand the previous sentence, I've done my job.

Exactly ! I tried to read the article twice, but still couldn't figure out what the writer was so excited about...
Has anyone understood what Massive Parallel Licensing is ?

If I start Sandbox Tycoon LLC, and convince my mom to buy .01% in a pre-IPO offering for $100, is Sandbox Tycoon now worth a cool mil?

How in the world is this a "great article?"

I'm with this poster:

Quote from: commenter Randall Smith on that page
Did you really have to let the subject of the article write the article here? That's the most inflammatory title ever written in the history of bitcoin, and then there is sooooooooo little news in it... This article is 99% sales pitch!

We don't even learn any of the important questions about BTCGlobal like if it's software is distributed with no CPOF (Central Point of Failure), if it's open source, and of course how BTCGlobal plans to profit from this venture!

I distrust Ripple to the core, but I can't see one thing about BTCGlobal from this article that makes this any more honest than them. Seriously, this is some guiness-record-book lazy journalism!

I'm looking forward to hearing more about their system, but as far as articles go, this was done by a total noob with no journalistic integrity at all.

Quote
If you’re not a fan of Mt.Gox, hold on tight, because one new startup is about to change the world of Bitcoin forever – hopefully. On June 5th BTC Global – a Uruguay-based Bitcoin startup – released an exciting press release announcing their Massive Parallel Licensing program. Initially, the press release stated that BTC Global has developed a distributed solution to address the regulatory challenges facing Bitcoin adoption in the United States and throughout the world. However, there has been some inherent buzz about this, people are really not as excited about the potential implications of this news as they should be. Not only could this be the end of Mt.Gox, it could be the dawn of a brand new Bitcoin age – the one we’ve all been speculating about from the start.
