it really would be better if Erik Voorhees or Jon Matonis did these types of interviews.

I agree, Amir is great at what he does but it is not public facing  Tongue

i would prefer him to say "bitcoins are everywhere on the network, they are not in one location. what you do have though is your private key to access your funds on your computer. this key is cryptographically secured, and with the bitcoins themselves not being stored in any one location, goverment entities cannot freeze or steal the funds from any one location."

i face palmed as soon as he brought silk road into the topic.. she wanted to know about college. he should have just said "yes, meet up with someone locally and exchange bitcoins for FIAT to pay college fee's"

Amir tells it straight. Fuck college anyway, it's a waste of time. You have all the knowledge you need available online. There are free courses from many of the world's leading institutions. If you want the social aspect just meet up with someone who already knows about or is interested and passionate about the same thing that you are interested and passionate about.

Personally I've discovered far more interesting concepts online or meeting people than in education institutions as they tend to function more like brain washing factories.

Sure, I admit some of Amir's explanations are a bit complicated but I think the kind of people who get interested in Bitcoins after watching Amir are some of the people whom we definitely want using Bitcoin. His style is definitely something that doesn't appeal to your standard establishment type - and I'd like to not have too many of them in Bitcoin for a little while longer.

I think each person appeals to a different segment. Amir probably appeals to a lot of people that Erik or Jon would not.

Amir Taaki

Digital currency Bitcoin is gaining popularity around the globe as people become more and more dissatisfied with the conventional banking system.
