Wincing at the comments, samples below :

Fear :
"The Feds will go nuts. It will be made illegal and the IRS will be put in charge to fine you and collect the fine and that is after the FBI has ripped you another #$%$!!!"

Mal informed :
"Sure hope not, Bitcoins where created by Russian hackers as a form of payment for illegal transactions like hacking and child porn."

This one thinks Bitcoin is just like Paypal :
"This is like PayPal aint it? Just have an email associated with your PayPal account and transfer money instantly to another email associated with a PayPal account."

Brain overload occurred here :
"It would catch on if you could buy them easily with a credit card or something instead of having to sign on to a bunch of separate sites and #$%$ or buy all these crazy expensive computers that suck up energy to mine for Bitcoins whatever that means. It's so complicated to me."

And Mr. thick as rocks says :
"So damn stupid. And so are people who fall for it and use it."

Interesting. That stuff strikes me as organized FUD pushback rather than as ordinary people expressing their thoughts. It's too "talking point" structured to be normal, imho. It's always hard to tell such things, but can society in general really be dumbed-down to that extent? Would a real/normal person watch an online piece and take the trouble to reply online about "all these crazy expensive computers that suck up energy"? If so - if society is really like that - then BTC adoption is the least of its worries and society's BTC perceptions are the least of our worries. If the comments are organized FUD - some entity trying to win hearts and minds - then the approach seems very clumsy, which brings me back to - can society really be so dumbed down that such tools would work? Yikes!

Edit: fixed the close quote position.
