"Iyengar knows his stuff. He left his job as lead CPU architect at Samsung to found Cointerra. One of his favourite tricks is holding up his Android phone and pointing out that he designed the processor inside it."

Awesome
I thought that the Samsung CPUs were designed by ARM.

What's ARM?

Click bait by coindesk. Site should be blacklisted here.

Can we blacklist the other fifty jillion scamasic companies too?

Seriously this is even worse than last fall.  I think the scammers are starting to realize that they won't be able to sell hot air for much longer, so they're all coming out of the woodwork.

Impressive website.  We'll see if their product materializes.

How much more efficient will 28nm be than BFL or KnC?

KnC has next generation scheduled for early 2014.  Would we say this is supposed to be better and earlier?  Interesting...

Nice due diligence work.      ^^

Watch and wait, I guess, but the early signs aren't good for them.

Phinn - are you around? Does this story feel a bit like the Joe Lewis story? Any connection that you can detect?

Spend a look on their website.

They call themselve "the world's leading chip designer". They promise to "deliver Bitcoin mining solutions with the highest performance ASICs for the lowest power and die area." CEO has the name "Ravi Iyengar", and, regarding the Homepage, he was "was Lead CPU Architect at Samsung Corporation" and has "many years of leadership experience at top semiconductor companies including Samsung, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and Intel." [http://www.cointerra.com/team/]

I made a search for him. Did find nothing. Only articles out of the Bitcoin-Univers and a linkedin-profile. The only famous Ravi Iyengar is a medical scientist.

Adress of the company is "Austin, Texas, USA".

The pictures of the people are black/white and, saying it euphemistic, semi-professional.

I would love to see the worlds leading chip designer involved in bitcoin, but this makes me wonder, if this persons after all exist.
