As someone else mentioned, these ATMs would be ideal at an international airport. I'm at one right now and the exchange rates are rediculous. Imagine how much easier it would be if I could transfer my BTC to the wallet accepted by the ATM and withdraw in the local currency.

I have a hard time not snickering at a journalist who writes "ATM's"... But elitism aside, there may well be demand for these machines. Where can you go to buy small amounts of BTC if you want to? Whether the price is too high remains to be seen.

"But the rise of Bitcoin does not mean the rise of Bitcoin ATM’s. I’m still a skeptic about the business model here, which works like this: companies like Robocoin sell the machines to operators who install them and take three to five percent of every transaction."

thats a good point but first it is good advertising for bitcoin and second the fees will be lower when more companies like robocoin step in (or robocoin will reduce it someday).
