That link talks about a price spread; doesn't talk about it not working.

From my understanding they will not give you cash for btc
1.You go to the zipzap site and they issue an invoice(similar to a regular bill)
2. You go to the nearest location, show them the invoice and pay
3. Btc are credited to your account

bitinstant used a similar process before in the US.

The legal situation in UK is still pretty much unclear. Are they legally allowed to do Cash-for-Bitcoin services? I don't want people losing their money.. that's all...

That makes a bit more sense Smiley Will be interesting to see if this actually takes off, the UK market has been very stagnant and had lots of issues with banks. This could be exactly what is needed for things to start taking off over here.

Wonder how much of a markup they will have? Also who could the company be with 28,000 locations? I thought perhaps someone like Spar, but they only appear to have around 2400 stores.

It's not a single company with 28,000 locations. Every small local shop in the UK has a paypoint or payzone terminal. They'll connect to ZipZap through those terminals. I presume it will be like buying mobile phone credit.

I wonder how this differs from me saying "I'm looking into openning a bitcoin ATM in 2014 in Cleveland."  I suppose they have an agreement with another company that this is worth doing?  Where I only have my own thoughts?

Perhaps I should find someone, make a decision and then release a press article?

Looking forward to more details.  I'm curious if this will last longer than bitinstant. Are they still around???
