I facepalmed at the ham-fisted bitcoin and darknet references in the last episode.

Calling a device "bit coin", denominating it in dollars, and since when is TOR fast enough to handle live streaming? It took way too long just to load simple HTML, in my experience. Is everyone running a TOR exit node on terabyte ethernet in the future?

It's like they're just slapping buzzwords onto shit.

lol I saw that episode finally, they talked about the darknet as well, it'd be awesome if anonymous came along and helped the main characters Tongue

It was probably 4999 Satoshis - is is set in 2048!  Grin
I think they actually meant dollars. In the latest episode they find another "bitcoin stick" and they talk about the value of the bitcoins in terms of dollars. It's possible they included another scene about bitcoin in the latest episode in order to clear that up.

Bitcoin was mentioned in yet another episode of Almost Human that aired tonight on FOX in the US.  A man had a bomb strapped to his neck and was forced to rob the bank where he either worked or was a customer.  The teller transfered bitcoin to a device, which was later recovered by police and said to hold over $400,000 worth of bitcoin.

What I found interesting about that is apparently the banks are using bitcoin. I'm not sure if that makes me Smiley or Sad

At least it wasn't fractional reserve bitcoin...lol

Live and enjoy experiments
4,999 btc, enough value to run a heart for a month, their value must really drop in the future, maybe the standard is WorldCoin now, the new totally tracable cryptocurrency.
That amount should be able to buy a small nation in the future.

Nice!  That's pretty cool.  Good to know that the writers think that BTC will still be around in the future haha.
