Bitcoin adoption from the second most well known brand on the internet should generate a bigger price rally, and more secondary reporting of the fact than from just one bitcoin news site.

Yes I think if any of Facebook/Google/Amazon were confirmed to accept Bitcoin payments, it would drive the price up almost instantly anywhere between 2x and 10x.  All signs so far point to fakery, the current rally I think is underpinned by the Fortress and Zynga news and not by this rumour.

My skeptical side is also now reminding me that Zynga used the Facebook platform to establish it's market position. It would be make sense as an overall strategy to p'n'd, as it's easy to create the logical counter-point that "Zynga and Facebook aren't the same thing, duhhh bitcoiners say the stupidest things". Possibly too skeptical, but I'm still a little confused that we've not seen more price movement from what would be a pretty significant PR coup for bitcoin (can't see how it would actually be a big money maker for Facebook, who I understand aren't profitable in a way that doesn't involve a subsidy for allowing access all areas to the NSA)

If it's indeed correct we certainly have some fantastic news which will make Bitcoin become a little more mainstream.

BTC: the beginning of stake-based public resources
This is apparently from Zynga Inc on reddit:

Quote
We wanted to share with the r/bitcoin community that Zynga Inc. (NASDAQ: ZNGA) is now conducting a Bitcoin test with BitPay (https://bitpay.com/), a leading Bitcoin service provider, in select Zynga.com web games.
In response to Bitcoin’s rise in popularity around the world, Zynga, with help from BitPay, is testing expanded payment options for players to make in-game purchases using Bitcoin. The Bitcoin test is only available to Zynga.com players playing FarmVille 2, CastleVille, ChefVille, CoasterVille, Hidden Chronicles, Hidden Shadows and CityVille. The games can be accessed at http://zynga.com.
Zynga is always working to improve our customer experience by incorporating player feedback into our games. We look forward to hearing from our players about the Bitcoin test so we can continue in our efforts to provide the best possible gaming experience.
Check out the test and let us know your thoughts.
Thank you!
Zynga

100 satoshis -> ISO code
This story hit reddit just after the rally peaked, but seems to have generated little comment.

Basically, no one has anything to add unless they actually work at Facebook.

That explains today's rally...

Not adequately.

If Facebook insiders and advertising affiliates really knew this was true and took out a bitcoin position as a result, I don't think the rally would be so small. This is the second piece of rumour based market pumping that's accompanied this rally, too, and the Netflix rumour being anywhere near true should also have produced an even bigger rally, if it were true.

Not at all convinced that either rumour is true.

Much debate online currently as to whether this news was faked and the source is reliable.  Could someone reading this in Holland please verify (or not) and let us know?

I'd prefer NSABook to just die in a large raging viking funeral-pyre kind of fire, but I guess this is something. I doubt they'll be viable for much longer, as most of the younger generation have left them and they're currently stuck with parents and grandparents, who aren't exactly big spenders in that space. (Youth having more disposable income in terms of not worrying about rent/mortgage, etc..)
