WANTED: Active dev to fix & re-write p2pool in C
This cover is an over-the-top admission that Bitcoin pisses off a lot of "establishment" types. Good. I want them to be pissed off. If a unicorn cover is the only way they can do it, then we've already won. The second phase of the fight will be the misguided Bitcoin Foundation cozying up to government, suddenly being shocked by restrictive legislation.

Just wait for the "we didn't see this coming, honest" admissions later on. Its so fucking predictable it makes me ill.

Seems like another jab at bitcoin.  More proof that we are very early in this bull run in bitcoin, and it is not anywhere near bubble territory.  Don't recall people making fun of dot.com stocks in 1999 or real estate flipping in 2007.

From this:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-01-09/bitcoins-and-unicorns-digital-currency-lands-cover-businessweek

it seems it focus on the mining and then only about the block reward economics. Mining: usually the topic that manages to completely focus the feeble minds, blocking out everything else and thus making Bitcoin sound unicornish. I wish mining could be renamed to "transaction-verificationing (sic)" or something of the sort.

Bloomberg seems to have completely moved from the laughing at Bitcoin stage to the fighting Bitcoin stage.  That's excellent.

When power hungry autocrats hate you, you're doing more right than wrong.

Wall Street investment firms do not start trading funds in hobbits and unicorns. And so we see the continuing of the biggest FUD driven negative price-pressure campaign the world has probably ever known. I'm surprised it's this unsubtle, tbh.

Notice how Businessweek didn't seem to mention the secondary utilities of the blockchain, and what that could mean for ssssso many other industries and government functions. Heads in the sand? Cannot comprehend the enormity? Or more FUD to enable a bit more lower priced buying?

One thing you can say for sure, the more that time goes on, the less that any ignorance based explanations make any sense. These business-world people know an opportunity when they see it, even if the reasoning behind that opportunity takes a while to sink in.

We're watching the realisation of one of the biggest shifts in socio-economic paradigms the world has seen in front of our eyes, manifested as the snapping into place in the heads of the influential people of the world. And we're watching from the most comfortable seats in the house (most of us, anyway!)

When I explain Bitcoin to someone, I never call it mining. Never even did.

The Term mining really is misleading, what the actual purpose of this action is.

I haven't read the article  (link?), but the cover is a not-so-subtle jab at cryptocurrencies. We shouldn't be happy to see Bitcoin associated with unicorns and other fantasy creatures.
