You can be fairly sure that price swings are waiting to emerge if the price stabilises for too long... we will get BTC price stability one day, but only once we have a mature system in a price range that reflects the status of "currency of the internet"

unlikely, if people keep spending at Overstock/TigerDirect they are going to keep dumping and keep the price relatively stable.
