No surprises there.
BFL finally found a marketplace to sell their expensive room-heaters to people dumb enough to buy them.
A match made in scammer heaven!

Not to mention that these room heaters have been used for mining by the BFL for more than one year. Now that their expiry date is approaching, and the BFL has decided to get rid of them to earn some more money.  Grin

It can be used for any SHA-256. The price is bad, but just because the rate is so low, doesnt make it completly useless

The love of fiat is the root of all good
BTW, ASICs make terrible room heaters because they are so energy efficient (compared to GPUs and CPUs). That BFL miner only generates as much heat as a 100 W lightbulb.

What's it weigh?  It might make a good doorstop.

Aren't they only selling 5 GH/s models? Which might be laying in their wearhouses for a long time. Really not that profitable.

Yeah but the average Walmart people (look it up Wink) don't have the slightest idea on what the miner does nor how to set it up. You can take that to the bank.

Not a very significant news. Even the previously anti-Bitcoin retailers such as Ebay are also selling Bitcoin miners. I will be happy when Wal-Mart accepts Bitcoin payments on its supermarkets.

That is just stupid pricing!

When you can buy a 180Ghs Antminer S1 for about $240 USD. Admittedly you need a PSU but you can get one that can power two units for about $80.

Thats insane pricing, nobody could possibly make a return buying one of them. Shares in the PETA mine project currently give the best return, BTC0.0795/15GH

time to buy Miner @ Wallmart.

Don't pay half of a bitcoin for 10 GH/s. You will be lucky if it mines 1/10 of that.
